New PXG prototype driver

First round review of the driver I was fit for at PXG HQ in Scottsdale.

PXG 0811x 10.5 Tensei Pro White 60S 45” D1. Wow! What a difference on my local course and know where I hit it. Coming from a self fit TM M6 GD AD DI 6s 45” D2.

This driver just feels so dang good using a Kirkland 4 piece and Snell MTB-X. It’s better than any hotmelted head I have ever used. My wife rode with me and kept saying how different it sounds. With the Pro White shaft, and the X head, it is so low spin it just ran out 20 plus yards of my normal drives. Hit about about 10% more fairways and gained serious distance. At least 1-2 clubs less into greens.

Yes, I was properly fit, but man this driver is money! Great purchase through the Hero’s program and I have found a big stick that made an impact on my scores. Shot 72 mostly because this new driver and partly because the new Gen2 Gunboat putter I got also.

Did I say this driver feels crazy good...

Heading out for my first round with my 0811XF in the morning. Hit it on the range the other day-still need to dial it in. Surprisingly I also have a Gunboat on the way. The $95 heroes price was impossible to pass up, especially after watching Johnny’s latest interview w BP. I have even more respect for him than I did before.

Have a review after taking it out a few weeks?

I recently got a gen 2 driver, 0811x. Its definitely longer on average than my LST. Wondering if others are having success with the 0811x?

I have the Gen 2 0811 paired with a VA Composites Drago and it’s excellent. Nice high launch with mid spin. It’s the best feeling/sounding driver around. Definitely spins more than the 0811x.

Irons: 19' Cobra CB's
Drivers: Titleist TS3 & Cobra F9
Fairway: Titleist 917F2
Hybrid: A-Grind
2 iron: Ping Rapture

I am 4 rounds into my fitted Gen2 0811x 9* Tensei Pro White. Jacked it up 1.5 degree because the X is so low spin and the Pro White is low launch and that helped. All I see is a nice fade that knuckles out there. Very low spin and just the best feeling driver on the market. Came from a TM M6 driver BTW.

Hands down it is the best feeling driver on the market (if you like a hotmelted thud feel).

My bag is slowly filling up with PXG due to the Hero’s program.

I’m loving the Gen 2 0811XF. Consistent fade, longer than my M1 and feels and sounds great. The Tensei Pro Blue shaft works well for me. Couldn’t be more happy.

The 0811x on the range is an entire green longer than my gamer. Not sure if it's the head or shaft difference. For the first time in forever, I can hit the ball low enough for some run out...and I play it at minus 1.5. Tensei white 70tx in pxg. T1100 in my other driver....

im extremely happy with my 0811X....i've been playing with an AD VR 7S from my fitting, i was between S and X but for some reason the upcharge was even more for the X. The feeling off the head is amazing and i havent come close to finding that with any other head out there. I recently was able to get a deal on a 7X and the performance is even better so i can stress enough how important it is to make sure your fit into the best shaft for you, with the S i felt like i was getting a little higher ball flight then what i like and a little more spin. Going into the X i immediately noticed my ball flight down where i wanted it giving me more roll and more distance.

I've heard that but I actually found mine longer than my g410 LST and m5 on the course. Same shaft and loft. I never jumped on a trackman or anything but the 0811x is 100% longer testing on course in my experience.

False! There was a very good test run earlier this year which showed the X was .5 mph and the XF was .7 slower than the Epic Sub Zero, which was rated as the top driver by this testing company. Overall, most drivers today are + -1 mile per hour. There's so many other factors that go into ball speed that you can't just single out a drivers head as the reason for less yardage.

It just isn't

That's why it is never claimed to be super fast and why it struggles for adoption or fitting recommendations

Watch for them to tweak it I would say. Much better than last one. Lowered spin to get performance more than speed though.

Bet next iteration will be very competitive. We'll see

Reviving this thread.

I've been between std and low spin driver, recently played both m3 and m4 (and many, many others). For me the x is too low while xf is perfect. Performance as good as anything. Looks and sound superb! Best looking driver ever imo. Think I found the last piece in my forever (3 y) set.
