> >

> > But now you get a chance to play them right!....they look slightly longer than the blueprint. I still may get a blueprint set, but I think it would be a waste of time and money...TWs are working well. Also been testing a bunch of iron shafts from all brands....modus 120TX, modus 130x, 1150ghX, X100, s400, dg120x100, c taper 125, tour V 125. Hit many balls. And the cream of the crop were s400 and 120TX. So it just worked out nice that the stock shaft on the P7tw was s400.

>

> Nope. Already bought blueprint. ( and love them ).

>

> I canceled both orders with shop. But they let TM convince them to keep the orders as they said “ you’ll have a line of people wanting them “. Lol. I tried to tell him not to keep the order. And now the x100 set are out of the collector box and hanging on the rack for all to fondle. Lovely irons though. Wonder if TM will buy them back later , like old driver etc stock ? Was just letting Kekoa know that if ordering a 3 iron you’ll still wait .

It's about time you came to the darkside. You know those Blueprints will need a timeout or two :)

I'm after a bit of advice if anyone can help.

I've got a set of P-7TW's coming this week, 3-PW S400. I'm getting them at the right money so have to buy them.

I currently play off plus 2, driver swing speed is around 110 mph and 7 iron carry is 170 yards. I'm using P-760's at the moment with KBS FLT shafts. I'm wondering whether the P-7TW's are going to be a bit too difficult to hit. I had the 730's before but found they dug a bit and were not the most forgiving iron in the world.

So what do I do? Use them? I'd put my P-790 3&4 iron in the bag, as I have with my 760's, so will only be using 5-PW. Or I could keep them as an ornament, or sell them and make a quick $?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I love playing golf with these irons. Therefore I'd recommend bagging them! 3-pw!

The P7TWs aren't unfriendly, but they are lofted more traditionally, so you might lose a club's distance compared to the P760s.

Part of me says you should stick with what works for you (you are a +2 after all), but part of me wants to suggest that you play the P7TW as it's a great set of irons - amazing feel and ball flight, and I love how it stops balls dead on greens.

Keeping that cap is obviously quite difficult. Did you find that you maintained it and shot the same scores with the p730? With blades you can feel everything that isn’t perfectly middled but still get decent results if it’s around that area. Meaning you might feel like you’re miss hitting it but still pulling the shots off? Anyways I think if you’re a half decent ball striker you won’t have an issue. Do you have experience with the s400? It’s quite heavy but I really enjoy the feel.

These irons are perfect for me. I’ve hit some crazy good 3 iron shots over the past month into par 5s. Long, high and straight.

These irons are just so consistent. I went out for a quick 9 and shot a 37 with them. Mainly due to hitting more greens in regulation and proximity to hole. Easy two putts and one putts 3 birdies, messed up a couple off the tee, but all good on approaches. Very solid and consistent. I get the impression not many are playing these and I'm not sure why? I think many are missing out so thought I'd share!

No offense but I am laughing my tail off at all the comments about performance.

First, a good friend has the P7TW’s and they are beautiful. Then again, I think all blades are beautiful.

2nd, if these irons had Duffy Waldorf’s name on em, would they produce the same majestic and magical shots?

The attributes being assigned to these inanimate objects is amusing.

They play as a blade plays: sweet spot is satisfying and everything else is a reminder that you ain’t a pro.

I'd say the price, the fact they're blades and the fact we aren't all a +2

As long as your gaps are consistent then that is what matters. Think about having a yardage number on your club and not an iron number. Also if you are a high spin player not sure the LZ is the best fit. Anyhow I still love these irons, I played 9 holes today with no woods. Just my 3-p P7tw set and putter and lob wedge and shot a 38, not bad, almost jarred one with the pw.... I have never tried that before but I enjoyed it! I find these irons to take perfect size divots as well.

Interesting to hear I find the same steep issue and it has plagued the driver since forever...

I’m gonna compare these to some more forgiving Mizunos JPX 919s with the same shafts to see the on course flight when the season starts up again and to compare my GIR stats (only about 8 per round) I feel like the P7TW have helped me focus a lot more on my contact (coming from MP32s for about 10 years) and I dropped my handicap to mid single digit when I started using them. But, I wonder if the ego is getting in the way and these should be practice or collectors pieces for me....

Mine have been sitting in the box during winter, but when I used them my only complaint is the distance. I bought them stock lofts and they are about half a club shorter than my Miura cb-57's. I'm already on the short side so need all the distance I can get. I was considering maybe having them bent 1-2* strong, but deathly scared that the club guy will scratch the necks. lol

Something to keep in mind, the hosel depths on these are pretty shallow. I had the same issue with my P7TW...I suspected then confirmed that my blades came soft stepped. The shorter hosel plus the soft stepping combine to create a ton of excess spin. Once I fixed this issue, these irons started to perform much better.

I suspected soft stepping based on feel and ball flight, then I confirmed that my irons were soft stepped when my guy pulled the grip off the 3 iron and found a 2 iron shaft in there. It was the same all the way through the set.

Soft stepping increases distance from the top of the hosel to the first step of the shaft creates a softer shaft/tip.

Most irons I’ve played have a 1.25” hosel depth, and these have a 1” depth. The .25” difference also adds to a softer shaft tip, although a smaller effect than stepping.

I already play hardstepped shafts, so 2 steps softer + .25” left for a very flexible tip for someone who’s used to a stiffer tip.

Each step is ~1/3 flex. The effects here are the clubs played ~5/6 of a flex softer, had a softer tip, and had a very spinny ball flight.

Here is a diagram of the DG x100 shaft. Note that the 37" PW shaft is 6" to the first step. I measured mine with 1" depth into the hosel and it is 6.00" to the first step. The 9 iron measured 6.50"; 8i = 7.00"; 7i = 7.50". Normally, the 9, PW use the 37" shaft so it does appear that the 9i is using the 37.5" shaft.

Q. Mine are the retail spec .....are the TW spec the same re shaft installation?

I hit x100 and s400 in these heads. Honestly I got the Same max distance on course with either. X100 was spinnier at times and mis hits were shorter with x100. Went with s400. S400 is more workable and they are so much fun to hit. Loving these irons! Can do anything with them...

Has anyone checked the lofts and lies by any chance on their set. I just got mine bent 1* stronger than stock to try and bring my ball flight down as i hit them extremely high like 130+ ft with a 7 iron high. When i got them back from my local builder he mentioned that most of the irons were outa spec and lofts were all over the place. Anyways got that fixed and have them all dialed in but kinda sucks when you pay 2 grand for them and the swing weights were not close to D3 so now im gonna deal with that issue a little later on down the road.

Yes as I have a lof/lie bender....perfect!

Swingweights also perfect at D3 eventhough I went -1/4".
