Pitch mark tools

Wonder what you guys think about these pitch mark tool I have made.

Used Maple Oak and Popler.

Those look great, but the tines seem pretty thick. Have you tried them on the greens? It would be interesting to see a photo of the repaired area.

Tines are actually smaller the a tee. Will try to get a picture on a green this weekend.

Tried a couple new ones,African rose wood and Oak.

Might try a single prong one. Better for the Bermuda type greens.

My only worry would be longevity and durability. Seems like they would absorb moisture over time - any finish would be worn or damaged by repeated insertion into the ground. Seems like they might snap in particularly hard ground as well.

 

These have to be among the reasons why you just don't see wood green repair tools too often.

With your handicap you might average 8.5 GIR,thinking half of those probably bounce on to the green so that leaves maybe 4.times a round to fix a pitch mark if you find it.

Thinking you should get at least 2 years out of a wooden tool.

Don't know. They were everywhere after a lot of the courses converted to new Bermuda. You just poked them around the pitch mark and they were restored without tearing the grass.
