Hello everyone,

As promised last week, I've rounded up some questions that have been coming in on this thread that I don't believe have been answered yet. I'll do my best to get caught up now!

Do you have a topline shot of the blades?

The top line shot of the blades are on the original post that Shortknocker displayed on 10/12.

MacGregor coming out with a Greg Norman line of clubs?

10/14/07

Oakie ISI

What involvement does Greg have with the company?

In case you haven't seen the recent press release about Greg's involvement with MacGregor, here is the link:

At this time we don't have a Greg Norman line of products planned for 2008. However, some limited edition products designed with Greg's involvement are on the drawing board for the future.

Is there any way that the irons will be available in a satin crome finish option?

10/15/07

mr divots

Is the topline bead-blasted on both the MB's and CB's?

Although the images show on GolfWRX are a bright chrome, these were just of some initial prototypes. Satin chrome will be the standard option for the new irons. Both bright chrome and gunmetal special order options are being considered. Regarding the top line, it will be treated so it isn't highly reflective.

10/14/07

Claus

Will Miura make 100 sets of these?

No, but MacGregor certainly will :D

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10/16/07

Yannerson

Can heads be available to a select group of custom club fitters?

Yes, we are planning on this. If you have some suggestions on shops that you would like us to contact, please let me know via e-mail ([email protected])

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10/16/07

Any chance we can see pics from every angle of the MB's?

10/18/07

Spin Doctor

Can there be a 360* view of every club on the website?

I'll get some images shot as requested and post them soon. We'll put 360º views on the "wish list" for when the new MG website comes on-line (early December).

Reid,

As you and I have discussed - I think that the Darker Finish/Gunmetal is going to look fantastic on these irons and I cannot wait to see them. Mmm... Gunmetal Wedges and Irons... I think Richard said it best :D

Thanks again!

I am excited about the new offerings from MacGregor but looks are one thing and the way they feel and playability is another. However the MB's are right up my alley and hope to try them out sooner than later since my MP33's are very tired. Having a satin finish is a major plus since that was one of the major issues I had with mizzy blades.

I know everyone is interested in the new irons. I am as well. I love my Bobby Grace GT putter.

I'm looking for info on whether or not we can order custom versions of the Bobby Grace GT putters. I have a center shafted with no insert version and back weighted 30g which was a Tour only version. I would love to get one with the same configuration but with an HSM insert instead.

Kind regards,

Eric

Reid,

You have given us alot information about the new iron and wedge lineup, but what new stuff from Bobby Grace? Will we see a line of putters similar to what Jose Maria Olazabal is playing come to the retail market this year?

I can't believe how good these irons look! I will try a set myself.

Will a major retailer carry them? Of course. Golf Galaxy has carried their stuff before. C'mon, if Greg N. uses his charm, Edwin Watts will carry them, at least in small quantities.

Don't be so hard on MacGregor. Mizuno has done a great job with retailers selling primarily forged irons. Maybe MacGregor will model its customer service after Mizuno. Who knows? But give them a chance.

Phelps22, thanks for the question. Yes, there will be a bunch of new putter options from Bobby Grace in 2008. Most will hit the market in Feb/March '08. The new line takes our patented DCT (Distance Control Technology) insert and uses it in a fixed position...as opposed to a changeable insert (Face-Off DCT, which is currently on the market). The street price will be ~$129 and will be offered in 7-10 "tour inspired" shapes.

Thanks, Reid.

Reid, is this the insert you are talking about or is this the HSM insert that has been used in the past?

Neither...it will be a DCT insert, but with similar feel to HSM. DCT offers game improvement insert technology to the putter category. DCT self corrects energy loss on putts struck off center. So in other words...if you stike a putt up to a half inch towards the toe or heel, it will roll the same distance as if you hit the sweet spot. On long putts this trait becomes extremely valuable. We have a patent to cover this technology and it is USGA approved.

Thanks, Reid.

So will the insert cover a significant portion of the face sort of like an Odyssey or will it be smaller insert like in the above photo?

Thanks again, Jon

Great new products and the big cheese taking the time to be with us; are you kidding me! Well done Mr. Gorman; you can expect my business just for being here and taking the time to support your brand on the grass roots level. The MacGregor brand is so very important historically to the game of golf that it should never be allowed to tarnish. Being in Jack's backyard makes it even more meaningful for us in Ohio so keep it up! I will be sure to return the favor and make a large push for you at my local green grass facilities in the days to follow (they know I have my act together when it comes to new and exciting golf equipment) and thanks again. PS: roll the putter face and forget about the inserts. Note the new Zen Oracle RDE lineup; I've played one for half a season now and the technology is real. My two cents...

Irons: 19' Cobra CB's
Drivers: Titleist TS3 & Cobra F9
Fairway: Titleist 917F2
Hybrid: A-Grind
2 iron: Ping Rapture
Wedges: Ping Gorge 2.0 Stealth's
Putter: Evnroll 9.1
Balls: ProV1

It will be bigger than what the picture shows but smaller than the competitor you have referenced. What would you prefer to see? Thanks, Reid.

I think that is perfect. I always thought the Face Off DCT were a little over the top with the inserts. These sound allot more appealing .

Is there any chance of Aaron staying on the team for the 2008 season? I think he's going to be missing out on a lot with all these new clubs and they can only benefit him. It's a huge loss to lose him. He's a massive idol to a lot of people with the stack and tilt swing and I think he can only help an OEM in product sales. I hope it's not too late. I know he's made me want to play MacGregor clubs ever since the U.S. Open when I followed him and I can't wait to with these new clubs.

But anyways...how's the progress on the driver and woods????????

Thanks for doing all that you're doing right now MT-PRO we all appreciate it.

It would be great if MacGregor would come out with an 8802 style putter something simple and classic just like the new blades.

Blasphemy! Ironmaster Style. :D

I think this would fit right in.

Nice one Harry, but I'd love if they just redid this one again. :man_in_love:
