Taylor Made M6 on course reviews?

I know this is an M6 thread, but for those gaming and raving about the M6, did you also try the M5? Did they perform more or less the same for you?

My M5 was fine, I just avoid adjustable drivers due to my desire to tinker with the weight placements.

I was given the M6 by my pro as a stop gap whilst he sorted my broken M3. I didn’t get on with the m6 at all, despite using the shaft I was happy with in my M3 (evenflow blue) - I found a good shot was a severe draw into the middle of the fairway and a bad shot just went left. It was always low too, no matter what loft I set it at and despite the fact it was the same loft as my broken M3. Thankfully, my pro (not Taylormade) replaced the M3 with an M5 after Taylormade spent 6 weeks messing about trying to claim I’d deliberately broken a club I’d had eight months, had been custom fit for, had won two club comps using and had been driving the best I’ve driven in years with. I told them they could epoxy the thing for all I cared I just wanted a working driver back!

 

Anyway, what a difference. The M5 with evenflow has me hitting straight long bombs (for me) and is just slightly longer than my old M3. It’s like night and day. I’m not saying the M6 is a bad club, it isn’t, but it just does not work for me as I play with a natural draw and the M6 overcooks it. No such issues with the M5 and it’s damn forgiving too. Hit a couple of bad drives off the toe the last two rounds and they’ve still ended up middle of the fairway.

 

I’m aware it’s me and not the club, but I had the same issue with the M4. I can only assume, rightly or wrongly, the M6 and M4 have some draw bias as I’ve had no issues with the M3 or M5. I can’t hit a cut for the life of me so I can tell very quickly if a club is set up for draw!

Atmos 6s (black?)

I've been eying up the M4 and went to my local DSG but all they had were M5 and M6s. Decided to take a few swings with the M6 with the Atmos 6S and the launch monitor just kept showing 180 yard carry with about 40 yards of slice...I'm not a perfect driver by any means but that was scary to see. I'm generally around 250 with a fade, any chance the monitor needs to be recalibrated or is that what I was really doing LOL.

The M6 is really money. Very forgiving while still being low spin. Had a 350+ yard beast of a high draw today (strong downwind) but still the longest drive ive ever had on this hole that I've played countless times

DSG monitors are horrible. It was giving me spin rates of 7,000 rpm with a driver. Same as an 8 iron. Distance was off about 60 yards for me. Go somewhere else!

I haven't hit the M6 driver, but TM sent me an M6 3 wood for a warranty replacement on my M2 3 wood. The M6 3w is sooooo smooth and forgiving. If the driver is anything like the 3w, I'm sold.
