I got utterly wrecked by the course today. It is not forgiving for even remotely wayward shots. Greens aren't as true as Waterchase but they were in wonderful shape. 

 

I hope to get back there to redeem myself.

was able to snag a 7:30 AM teatime today at Grapevine and boy is it awesome they have this thing is good or better than Waterchase and it’s infinitely more lush

Oh, those are the most luscious fairways I’ve played off of this year.

 

The greens were a little slow, but they were verticut and sanded and they were rolling true

 

three hour round for a threesome with one guy who is handicapped

Glad to hear they got it turned around again.  I for one have given up trying to get tee times there as it always seems they are full up.

Had a blast playing my first tournament in many years with @callawayjay

 

Mesquite is a phenomenal golf course. Beautiful layout and in fantastic shape.

Very underrated course that usually has some really good greens.  Just hate nunber 16.

Bear Creek East today.  Greens were fine but fairways were nice and the rough as deep in spots. Pace of play was a little slow at 4:25 round teeing off at 7:30.  Probbaly going to push to a 5 hour round by mid afternoon.

We have a tournament at Bear Creek east in about a month so I hope it’s still OK

Played a late round at the west course on Saturday. Fun course if you’re in the right spots, only got in 15 holes though because of pace of play. Need this weather to chill out though even the late afternoon rounds are unbearable now. Shot 39 on the front 9 so can’t complain.

Played Hawks Creek for the first time this week. Really fun course in great shape right now, pleasantly surprised.

Hawks is a gem. A lot of great risk/reward holes although I despise #14. And it’s nice that they’re not charging $90+ like seemingly every other course in the metro.

14 was the hole with the split fairway, big tree in the center? That was my one blow up hole on the back, dang water got me on my second shot. 

 

I agree it's a gem, especially for the price.

That’s 16 I think. 14 is the dog leg left with the creek running down the middle.

0h yeah, you're right. I bailed out left on my second shot but was able to get up and down fortunately. Tricky hole for sure

@callawayjay I was doing just fine with my 15 minute drive to Westridge to play solid tee-to-green conditions and just dealing with the greens being what they are...then you had to go and make me want to drive an hour from NW Prosper to Arlington 😑

Pecan Hollow is still in fantastic shape.  They are punching on the 10th and 11th so get out there before then.

Our course is closing the first week of August for maintenance. Give me recommendations for some places to play. We live about 15 minutes north of McKinney and would be willing to drive a max of 90 minutes. We'll be able to get on Gentle Creek and are looking for 2 other courses to play.

 

Played Texas Star last year during this same time and really enjoyed it. Also played Frisco Lakes. What is Bridlewood looking like? Heritage Ranch? What else?
