If you were to pick one, which would be the course to play out of the two?

OA easily, I am member up here and its far preferred to Tribute (not that its a bad course).  OA has the ability to absolutely destroy you unless you are on, Tribute is a really fun time but not nearly as punishing.

Is walking allowed at either Old American or Tribute? What are the chances of getting on as a single for a twilight round?

Yes you can walk and pretty easy to get a tee time.  Public can only book 5 days in adavnce though.

Can echo this, twilight, especially weekday, is very easy to get on either course.  Weekend prime time is near impossible, some slots at Tribute open up but OA is packed every nice Saturday and Sunday by members until about 2pm

I don't care if the initiation was $0, I would never go back to ClubCorp nka Invited again. They have ruined the member experience. Castle Hills would be best your choice but you should really consider Old American. Do you really need a pool and tennis courts? - former Stonebriar member

I wish my wife thought the same way as i would join but of course that is not the case!

I have 2 young kids + wife so it's difficult for me to slip off for golf at times. Also a harder sell to drop money on something that is solely for myself, versus a place the rest of the family can actually use. I do wish every property nearby wasn't Club Corp owned (Prestonwood Hills / Stonebriar / Gleneagles). I know Castle Hills is an option but nothing ever really pulls us West. Maybe I just need to move 😂. I have played Tribute, not Old American, but it is still a 20min drive and I also work South, not North. The hope is to get some more afternoon rounds in a some faster pace of play on weekends.

Late notice but have room for 2 at Rangers tomorrow. 840. The cool part is our buddy is a member so we just pay him $65 cash to play. Let me know

Wish i could get off work, I live about 10 minutes from there!

What do you mean by being a member? The 20% off we get as a resident? It’s a city owned course so I didn’t think there were memberships…

Played Gentle Creek yesterday. Conditions were slightly less than is usually the case with recently aerified greens. Fairways and rough were thin in some places here and there but overall good. Always a fun course to play.

I have played it the last 2 Sunday's and agree with your statements although the greens were still rolling fine.   Fairways were pretty firm and i bet they do a full punch next month.  Tehy just need to get the darn clubhose finished!

Don't you know the guys in the pro shop are going crazy. They told us they are supposed to be in the new clubhouse sometime in May.

Old American was a good course. I enjoyed my round there although I didn’t score the best. Had a couple birdies and a few doubles. I thought the routing was well done and you definitely have to think about your shots a bit more. I did like the fact that you could make your way around the course fairly easily without too much prior knowledge.

Played colonial a few days ago. Really enjoyed it. It was pretty challenging but not too crazy. I’m looking forward to see what the renovation has to offer.

I played there yesterday afternoon and agree with your statements.  The greens sure were hard and i had a couple nice short iron shots that would not hold the green.
