Was channel surfing just now, and the ladies Pac 12 championship was on...a playoff hole between a girl from SC (or was it Stanford) and ASU.

The SC girl (Valenzuela?) was standing in the fairway, about 140 from the hole...really a straightforward shot. She for some bizarre reason had her coach with her...the two of them gunned the flag multiple times, took out their green/yardage bibles and pencils and looked they were solving a calculus equation.

Two+ minutes later she hits here shot, leaving it 50 feet short and right...proceeds to three jack it and lose the individual title.

Now the men's is on...at LACC. What on earth is a "Signature Clubhouse"?

I'm getting very grumpy in my old age!

These guns! At my club everybody is using them. You'll see the guy who is a 20-handicapper, who has played the same course 2-3 times a week for a decade, taking multiple readings for a half-wedge shot. 49 m? Really?! You could have sworn it was 51-52?!! Wow.

Jeeze, I'd hate to wonder what else grinds your gears. You do realize you can change the channel to something else?

That’s not always how it works. My dad literally doesn’t watch anything unless it has something he can moan about and/or make comments about how it was better in the old days.

Tell me about it. I find myself happily explaining to younger players I'm paired with about metal spikes, that all the irons we had were blades and that we let the group on the tee hit up on par 3s. I fear it won't be long before I tell them that I walked to school barefoot, in the snow, uphill both ways...
