I dunno. My gut feeling is that she's working hard to make the team, but then would take a pass to allow a younger player to compete.

Nice round by Ariya, but that eagle putt on 18 was just bad.

 

Not a huge fan of post round interviews, but Inbee is very good. Ariya was pretty funny.

In Gee had a solid round; but she shot the worst possible score with 31 putts.

She needs to shoot low rounds of the day both days to have a chance.

I'd say she's working hard to play well (or would just retire if not into it) but I'm not sure if making the team is really a direct goal. Maybe there's still a goal of being in the top X Korean players to show everyone she can still play vs. the young stars. My guess is also that she doesn't play even if she makes the team. Not much more she can do vs. last time. Maybe I could see her playing if somehow she got really hot over the next year (won a couple of majors) and wanted to play to show people she's still the best and go out with a bang.

 

Assuming the top 3 are set (JY Ko, Lee6, SHP - they still need to play but seem like they are a cut above right now) and Inbee is out, the battle for the 4th spot is really amazing. I hope Ryu can make it, as she missed it in 2016 even though she had been one of the better players in the years leading up to the 2016 games, and this is likely her last shot. Although I don't think her chances are much better than the "lucky draw" odds out of the Tier 2 Korean pool right now. Any of these players could win 1-2 times over the next 12 months and runaway with it (the last spot).

Yes, Jin Young, Sung Hyun and Lucky 6 have huge advantages, but they're by no means locks.

Essentially, they're about 80 points ahead of No. 33 In Gee Chun; almost a major win ahead.

Hopefully, Inbee is no different than Phelps. The golf course in Japan is ideal for her.

Go Dumbo! Nice to see In Gee in the mix. Danielle with a very nice 8 under round. Carlota is lighting it up, currently in the lead with a -4 round after 8 holes. Paula was only able to shoot 1 under today.

 

Tons of low scores out there. No idea who's going to be able to keep the pedal to the metal.

Look at this way; the winning scores have been -21, -18 and -17 the last three years.

My guess is -19 will win it this year; -18 will have a shot.
