That's example A1 of why stats aren't infallible. Yesterday I watched him pull a dead-straight three foot putt so badly it missed the hole by 3". Caught him doing the exact same thing last week too, and keep in mind I've seen the poor guy televised putting on maybe 15-20 greens between this week and the last.

 

Even if the stats say that overall he's slightly better than average this year, missing 3 footers that badly has a demoralizing effect which seeps into his whole game. You can see it in his body language. He misses one of those and everything about him goes "well I guess I'm not winning this one."

 

Now maybe I've reversed jinxed him to win this week, which would be a-okay with me.

That's about as sorry a stat as one can imagine, regarding Spieth's weekend play this year. You aren't gonna get anywhere playing like that.

I followed Tiger yesterday, he looked pretty good. Swing looked pretty effortless and flight was great. These guys make it look easy. He left some out there, couple bad chips and missed putt opportunities.

Agree. Hit a 200 yd tee shot and still have wedge into the green. Seems easy to me...
