I think everyone knows BK is working off the rust and doesn't care much about events other than majors. He's a big trophy hunter and always will be. I think he took for granted that he would walk back on the course and just resume top form but it doesn't work that way. Golf is hard and unforgiving.

No doubt he's rusty and doesn't have the best track record in regular tournaments for the most part. His wrist injury in the past and now knee injury requiring surgery are concerning though long term. He's my 2nd favorite golfer so I'm not hating I hope he turns it around for the Master's.

I like BK and how he just handles business. I don't think he stands a chance at Augusta but I'd love for him to win a green jacket.

Curious as to why you think this? He was inches away from a green jacket. If the putt falls on 13, he wins. If the putt falls on 18, he goes to a playoff. I think his chances of winning are very real.

Yeah, we can definitely play the "ifs and buts" game all day long. I just was curious as to what goes into his thinking that Brooks doesn't have a chance.

Yeah same. The only reason that I can in reality pick is that he is not really a great putter. He can get hot but overall that is the weakest part of his game. He is so good off the tee and from the fairway he hides it pretty well. But, I think he is pretty average by tour standards when it comes to putting.

But, then again Sergio, Scott, and Langer were all below average putters. All of them have green jackets.

When BK was winning his majors he put on a putting clinic. Maybe he’s not the best statistically week in and week out, but I would be hesitant to say the flat stick holds him back from winning.

I would not call it a putting clinic. More so a driving and ball striking clinic. Resulting in kick in pars and lots of birdie attempts. Give these guys enough looks at birdie and you will see them drop.

Agreed. Maybe my memory is just poor, but his putting is what cost him that third straight U.S. Open at Pebble last year. Brooks' game is his length off the tee and his ball striking.

Like you said, there have been guys who are below-average on the greens and have won a Masters. I'd probably say that Brooks is a better putter than all three of those guys?

I think BK will win a Masters but my comment was based around him coming back from injury and not having his game back in good form. Now with this layoff I think he's a contender come November.

Looks like the MAVRIK is still in the bag for BK to start this tournament. Anxious to see how he hits it? Also rocking the Tensei White AV TX shaft. I love the way the Tensei Pro White feels so I would love to give the AV a swing.
