There is no way of stopping the Coronavirus right now other than shut downs. The regular flu, while deadly, is believed to be many times less fatal than Corona. Corona is also more contagious. If there are no precautions and lock ins there is no way of stopping the virus. The regular flu has vaccines and medications, corona does not. More people would die at a more rapid pace. You would see a much higher number in deaths if every one lived like nothing was happening.

While I believe they could stay open with the proper precautions and behavior, they have to close the golf course because people are dumb.
