I have a Scotty Phantom X 5.5 on the way that I’m going to try this out on. I play all my other putters at 33”. This one is 34” but I’ll throw in a half inch extension when I swap the grip. I forward press a bit as it is so it should fit pretty natural. I just want to make sure o set up with the same posture.

I've had one on 2 putters and went away from it twice...but mostly because of the putter. I had them both on mallets. Stricker going to it has made me want to throw one on my pxg closer to see what it does for a blade/ wide blade putter...

Stricker is really what pushed me over the edge to try it. He’s been such a good putter for so long there has to be something there for him to make the switch.

Couldn't agree more. He putts by keeping his left wrist super firm. It would seem that he thinks this grip helps him do that without even thinking. For someone who puts as good as he does to try it made me rethink it.

I have it on a Betti QB5. Have only played once, but have done a lot of testing on carpet just messing with different grips and setups. My biggest takeaways: A little length addition probably wouldn't hurt. As others have mentioned, I would be interested to see what bending a little more upright with a little more loft would do. And lastly, it makes the 362g putter head seem a little too light for my liking. Messed around with a counterweight to just add some total weight but that makes the head side feel much too light still. My guess is adding some length would help the head feel a little heavier. Short of that, I may add some lead tape to the sole or something just to see.

Decided to come back to this grip with a different outlook than the first time. Honestly the wristlock idea is a joke with this setup. Great idea but poor initial execution. However…I did find a ton of success using this grip with my claw grip. The top hand locks into place and gives it just enough forward shaft lean for a repeatable stroke. The bottom hand rests nicely on the side of the grip. Big fan of this current setup.

Been toying around with grip methods after putting the wristlock on my wide blade. Putting the wristlock bulge about 3 inches up your wrist/lower forearm really makes for a stable putter. Also seems to require less forward press.

Still need to get on a green rather than my birdie ball matt. But on the matt, this grip and wide blade are as good as my high moi mallet.

Not sure if this would work for anyone else, but I have settled into doing a rather unorthodox "double interlock" with my left thumb somewhere around the S on Stroke. Seems to hit the wrist/forearm in the right spot and for whatever reason that double interlock (pinky and ring of right + index and middle of left) seems to feel solid as a rock at the moment.

Try it out forward in your stance like I do above... and when you like it rip off that plastic grip layer and replace with leather 😉

I've since shellacked the twine, so it's more black in line with the Dipell leather tape.

I armlocked most of this past year. Decided it was just too unnatural, but have a wristlock set up I'm ready to implement this season that I have really been loving.

I'm hoping to tear the plastic off like you did, add a little more substance to the wrist bulge and then retape with a lizard skin wrap. How has the leather worked for you? Did you add any more substance to the wrist bulge? Has anyone else experimented with this, if so what material did you use? I'm thinking about some styrofoam and tape to achieve proper size. I'll be sure to post my finished product.

Reviving an old thread here but with anyone that found success with this grip where did you land on putter length and loft? I was able to play around with one that had been cut off and slid it up and down a putter with no grip playing around with length. I switched to a 33 inch putter in my offseason testing and was enjoying it so while getting my new stability shaft installed im getting this grip put on and having the putter set at 36 inches. That seems to be about the sweet spot when playing around with the other one. I grip down to where it would be about 33 inches still and am able to press it into my arm fairly comfortably. I putt with the ball quite forward in my stance so i have always had to use putters with very little loft so im only having mine set at 4 degrees. Hoping the setup is good and works for what i want.

Bumped for Keegan's win...could it be the first PGA tour win for a Wristlock Grip.  Anyone still doing this?  I went to a Wristlock this season and it has been well worth it.  Keegan looks to be wrist locking left hand low.  I've have tried both and stayed with right hand low and the Oddy two ball Eleven at 36 inches.  Really liking it.

IF I have a 33 inch scotty Cameron phantom x and want to put the wristlock putter do I need an extender? Super stroke claims to add 3 inches to putter length on website ?

I think adding an extension would depend on how much of a wrist lock you are looking for, but in my experience the wristlock grip adds about 1 inch to the putter not 3. Hope that helps

I don't want to add to much, I just want what is advertised on the super stroke website. I guess I will have to just see when I put it on it

I do let it rest at my wrist.  I normally roll 33” total (with grip on) and have this at 34.5” total.  I had a tendency to hinge my wrists during back swing and where I rest the “bump” now, it takes almost all of the hinge out.  I also feel like my right hand controls a lot more of the stroke which feels good.   It does however force me a lil right which I’m adapting to finding a nice groove at the practice green yesterday.
