Played Rustic Sunday afternoon and today. Was supposed to play Monday as well but had to back out last minute. Course is in great shape. Greens on the back 9 have the tiny tine holes but it still rolls nice. Blue styrofoam sits halfway down in the hole. Goose will open tomorrow and am playing there. Waiting for SD courses to open...

Got the email from my Men's Club in Orange County (San Clemente) that they have the green light from the city to re-open.

Going to take them a couple of days to conform to the new social distancing regs but they're expecting to be open by the weekend.

Williowick is the only Santa Ana course i can see open thus far. Clubcorp courses still also have not changed their policy (either closed or home members only)

Tijeras has tee times up on their site even though it still has the covid/closed notice.

Monarch has times up too.

San Juan Hills has times up but they don't work when you click them.

FYI, Goose is open but it’s for people with tee times only. Range, putting green and chipping greens are closed and not open. No one allowed into parking lot without tee times. No word on when the rest of the course will open up.

I called Goose Creek yesterday and they said they were booked up for the next 7 days. Was hoping to get in next week but its not looking good.

Moorpark is also open for walking only. Especially with the upcoming weather that will be brutal.

Wonder how may will keep their ranges closed like GC. I thought Riverside was following "Park and Play" which says close the range OR spread the bays apart. Perhaps they're so elated to reopen, they just don't wanna push any limits and risk being closed again??

The rules being applied to golf courses in all SOCA county's are pretty much the same. To open play they must make various changes on the course, how staff behave, plus care for carts. Everything needs to be disinfected before play. Also, it's my understanding, if a given course doesn't have enough carts to handle "1" person per cart for full field, that includes married/couples in separate carts, they will likely be walking only.

Played Los Robles yesterday.

Lovely round, easy, pleasant. Course is in good shape.

I wore a mask around the starters box and bathroom area but nobody near 4-5 feet of me elsewhere. Plenty of room.

Had little foam thingies in the cups.

Bright some hand sanitizer, maybe gloves for the starter window tasks. Other than that its easy peezy.

 

Booked for Rustic next tuesday, and los robles again next thursday.

No way in bleep i'm walking Tierra Rejada though so had to pass. And i love that course lol.

 

Might check out Moorpark CC. is it a solid track?

(mind you i play LA city public courses so im not a course snob. I play knollwood a lot now, so that's my bottom standard)

IMO, Moorpark is better than TR. but still bitching to walk. I remember some holes are pretty far from each other.

Closing restrooms and requiring facemasks at all times are just braindead.

Facemasks restrict breathing, not good when temps exceed 100. Of little use in the fairways, where you're likely 20 yards or more from your playing partners. And why would you close restrooms, the only places on most courses where you can actually wash your hands thoroughly?

Some clueless administrators out there, unfortunately.
