Why no yellow Bridgestone Tour B XS?

Does anyone know Bridgestone’s reason for not offering the Tour B XS in yellow? I apologize if there is already a thread.

i wonder the same, but for the Tour BX as well. Love yellow balls and love these balls but would be even better in yellow.

Likely lack of demand vs the RX. In general demand for non-white golf balls is relatively low.

That is the old ball that was available everywhere in yellow. The 2020 XS ball is not available in yellow.

The 2020 model is available in yellow in Japan.

 

Hopefully it does well and they bring it the the US.

As has been pointed out, that is the old ball.I'm surprised by this. I seem to be seeing more and more guys playing with yellow or colored balls regardless of brand.

Dean Snell mentioned in a video a couple of years ago that yellow accounts for roughly %1 of total ball sales. Now he did not elaborate on the details of his data source or criteria for that figure, but ultimately all white has had the highest demand by a drastic margin since colored balls first gained popularity in the early 1980's (tour usage has been a big influence).

You also need to keep in mind that each color = a different sku which adds complexity/cost to the inventory control process. On top of that, coloring cast thermoset urethane is more difficult to do while maintaining a close end result to the white equivalent which is why companies like Taylormade and Titleist were late adopters in their urethane offerings (the injection molding method is as simple as adding dye to the thermoplastic).

Bottom line, higher cost for a relatively low benefit for some of these companies to produce.

Different OEMs have claimed different market share values for colored balls in recent years, but actions speak louder than words. Ultimately if the 2018 version of the XS in yellow had met or exceeded sale expectations, the 2020 version would have also been available in yellow.

Old model. Wasn’t exclusive.

It’s a shame that XS new isn’t offered in yellow but, as said above, I see why. We can always hope. Chances are there will be a reception to yellow BX and BXS in Asia first .

Very likely. As I mentioned earlier, the costs likely outweigh the the benefits for them in this situation.

I wrote to Bridgestone regarding the yellow ball not being offered for 2020 in BXS and their rep told me that they will introduce the yellow ball back in 2021 in BXS and B model. Right now they only offer it in RXS. They did not think many people had the preference but they discovered they lost sales to other companies that made them. We should see them around Xmas time.

Bottom line is right.  Snell balls available in yellow.
