Video - Throw clubhead outward immediately.

Golf is annoying before the lockdown I was having a bad round and in a match play after I was beaten and pissed off the last 4 holes I just thought sod it im not gaining flexion bowing my wrist leading with the elbow just throw the clubheàd away. Par par bogey(cleared the green by 20 yards) birdie. Every drive long and down the middle every iron pured.

2 months later after practising this move daily gets on the first tee and feeling very confident disaster fats thins every shot. Give it time but no same result end of the round had enough decided to straighten the trail arm forward as fast as possible and bingo I’m a golfer again. Throw the club head straighten the arm whilst getting it forward and moving to the lead foot. Individually all may work fleetingly I think you have to continually work on all of them.

Plus right shoulder at ball there appears to be no magic move.

This seems to make a lot of sense to me. I am a serial caster/no lag/can't hold the angle/short high hitter. This changes my mindset just as he mentions swinging the head vs the handle or closer to handle to hit imaginary ball halfway down. I'm sure that will increase my SS thinking that way, but not will have to focus on making solid contact as I could see my contact being all over the place.

thanks for this.

Eggsactly. I do the Jimmy Ballard method. He refers to “springing the shaft”, which is to say, from the top try to make the shaft bend - apply bending torque. Ballard is very big on the split-hands drill.

But the video that you posted is the best, most in-depth description of the idea that I have seen. The guy may be rough in his presentation, but he really understands what he is talking about.

I was in a bad way with my swing and stumbled upon this - I could tell the release felt so much more natural and repeatable due to the fact that it was capitalizing on my body's ability to naturally react to the weight of the club moving.

However, I was dealing with major pushes and/or over-cuts/slices.  I only had to change one thing to start hitting the best shots throughout a round that I remember hitting in terms of strike and ball flight consistency: Keep the left shoulder from raising up in the backswing.

I know this was probably just unique fix for me, but if anyone else is reading this and hitting pushes and wondering why it's not working for you - try keeping that left shoulder lower in the backswing.

Also, I think it's important to point out that everyone's physiology and grip will dictate a different release angle, but you can find yours by pausing at the top of your swing and finding which release locks your wrists in that fully extended impact position with the club face square to your lead wrist.  That's really the only "slot" you have to "find" in the transition, and even then a lot of it is built on proper wrist angles in the backswing and maintaining proper spine angle (i.e. don't get in your brain's way).
