My 902OS are uh kinda hard to hit lol at least for my game. Going to give it a month of play, 2 rounds with each set to see what I’m sticking with. If they’re not for me I want to move them on before the condition is shot. I find the Adam’s XTD A-Tours to be more forgiving, specifically the digging. The 902OS get through the turf great however I’m taking deep divots and fatting shots. I bent them 2* weak too so should

have added bounce.

in fairness it’s been the wettest its been in California in about 5 years so hoping it’ll dry up so I can play them on the harder turf I’m used to.

jury is out.

Hmmmm. This is interesting. Are you a picker or a digger? Will be following to see how they work out for you.

The “penetration pricing” strategy that has brought them more inline with the big boys along with signing tour players makes me wonder if they’ll eventually go retail.

I traditionally am a picker, basically ruffle the grass or trim it to bare at the most.

guess the easiest way to say it is I never see dirt with the Adam’s and I’m seeing earth with the 902OS.

archer not arrow, for sure. Different shafts, swingweights and lengths so I’m anticipating some uh, break in period.

No pro will sign with a brand just because they like it, they want money with it. Have to pay for they somehow, already raised their prices.

I’m fairness to new level their original tour guy absolutely tore it up this year on Champions Tour so they could be riding that wave a little as well

I posted in the Gi22 thread but I just picked up a demo 7i (really 30* so a 6 iron but whatever) and they are nice. High launch, forgiving, quite long heel to toe but feel fine for a cast head. I am going to get the 7i on a launch monitor but what I saw on the course meant I will probably pick up a 5i and 6i to go with it and blend it with my current set (Ben Hogan PTxPro). The only thing that would disuade me is if New Level keeps raising prices or if the land angle on the 7i is less than 42*.

Ah, cool, nothing you can do about that really.  What weight do you have for those Xcaliber's?  Heard some really good things about their iron shafts lately.

Likely moving on from my 902OS if anyone is trying to get some at closer to the old price point. Love the irons and boy do they look good in the bag but they're perhaps a little too demanding for me. Posted in the classifieds section

Yup just saw the price increases on their site...inevitable I guess.

The prices did go up, but it looks like now you can order some of the premium shafts on irons sets for no upcharge now (Tour Issue DG, Project X, etc).  Some of those were a 10-15% upcharge before.  So its almost a wash in those cases.

I just ripped off the plastic and gave them a test in an indoor range up here in the frozen north ( 60 mi north of Toronto ).

Felt very nice ( off of mats ) - strong lofts - 6 iron flights like a 5 iron - same on down through the set.

I'm a digger - and hoping I like the turf interaction.  I found I kinda get stuck in the turf / rough ( yes I hit the rough on occasion ! ) with wider soles - hoping the front edge bevel and slightly narrower soles cut through nicely.

Ball marks were easily rubbed off - and no scratching on the faces or soles.  Seem to be fairly resilient for 1020 forged.

I really like them, but I ended up getting some 623 CB's.   They have the TGI 80's in them.

ended up not selling my 902OS heads...or my pf-2s..so decided to give the Pf-2 withh project x 5.0 shafts in them a try..felt great, hit amazing shots and remember why I won member guest with them...then had a set of px 5.0 shafts that I put into the 902OS...also felt amazing, easier to hit, amazing feel...but the AW is going my normal PW distance of 130 which is to be expected as it is stronger loft...

what are folks using as wedges to pair with the 47 deg  AW in the set...I have always done 50 for 115, 54 for 105 and 58 for 90 yards...now not sure...maybe 52 deg for about 110 yard shot...and keep the 58?

Any idea on how the different models launch? How does the OS launch compared to the PD and CB given that it’s stronger lofted? Would think it has a bit of a lower launch than PD but not sure about the CG…

I have the 5 iron in the OS and 6-PW in the PD. Only have a couple of range sessions but can give my 2 cents.
The 6 iron launches effortlessly high, higher than other similar types of irons ive used. Then when i move to the 5 iron it is significantly lower, more like a strong lofted, low spin, distance iron.
Forgiveness is no different from what i can tell.

Im actually thinking of dumping the OS 5 iron and replacing it with the PD 5 iron. If anyone out there wants to try the OS and is interested in trading shoot me a PM.

You should look at weakening the 50 to 51 and the 54 to 55.

Hello again, all... after an 18-month hiatus from golf (work imposed), I am back. I have not kept up with any new developments, but just took a look at the New Level site and it appears that, generally, they have the same clubs they did 18 months ago.

Does anyone know if any changes have been made to the 623's? Or, any plans for other designs in the near future?

I think you’d find that PD 5 and even the PD 4 iron easy to hit, easy to launch. Love mine.  After a season with the 902 PD, these are still among the best irons I’ve owned.
