From AZ Secretary of State documents, it looks like it’s now owned by someone else. Looks to have been sold in October 2022.  Eric’s linkedin lists his end date at New Level as Nov 2022. So it all adds up.

I wonder if this means he'll be going on to do something else (in a few years, assuming the new owner made him sign a non-compete). It'll also be interesting to see how NL is handled going forward.

New Level was bought Ryan Moore and his brother….they also own TRUE linkswear the golf shoe company. Ryan started playing New Level irons last season if you search you can find his WITB on GolfWRX from this past summer.

For anyone interested in the actual irons instead of the increased price tag, I absolutely adore my 902OS. I thought they were going to be too much club for me but I was going through both a shaft weight and playing length change so that added to the mystery of how to hit them a little for me.

Now that I've settled in, I'd say they're probably the best feeling iron I've ever hit. I haven't hit a ton of forged offerings but a couple of Scratch Golf irons here and there. These are at least as soft. Fly high, forgiving and look good in the bag. Can't go wrong IMO.

Like everything else over the last couple of years costs have gone up.

You do realize that in December 2022 a single Gi22 iron cost $110 and then in January 2023 it cost $150. You know that, right? Let me check my math but I think that is a ~37% markup on the same product month over month. If you can find another golf club that changed that dramatically in a one month span I will be quite shocked.

Agree but when you don’t sell the volume, you got to pick it up in the direct price, sadly.

I'd like to see the new owners make a statement of some sort.  Seems like NL has a decent enough size of people who have tried, bought, and like their clubs.  I'm one of them. Looking at the statements maybe not everyone actually knows they are under new ownership.

I would like to know about their plans for the clubs are going forward.  The irons are really good, simple as that.  Personally, I think there is a lot of cool possibilities with TRUE and NL under one roof.  Some cool apparel collabs would be nice.  I just hope they don't let it just fade away to nothing.

They should at least be acknowledging this group.

It would be really bad form to not at least get in here and acknowledge this transition and what the plans are going forward.

… my guess is that Eric can’t go start a new company or work for any other golf company for quite a while.  It would devalue the company if they allowed that.

The social media has gone to 💩.  Sucks to see a company bought and do a 180.

1,200 bucks for the 902 PDs with some yellow and green paintfill and laser etching??

I thought the EXACT same thing. The new owners are really testing what people will pay for this stuff. Or they are geniuses that are able to capitalize on people's obsession with the masters. I don't really understand the themed bags and clubs around the masters. I love the tournament but having that stuff year round seems.....odd?  I guess if you have like 5 sets of clubs and you pull these out in April then you must have much more disposable income than I do, in which case, congrats on that!

Scratch Golf 2.0? Am I dating myself with that GolfWRX blast from the past? Remember how gaga we went for Scratch … only ramped higher by Ryan Moore’s involvement … didn’t last long after that.

You do know that the Scratch Golf guys are still in the golf business…they are now National Custom Works.
I do agree with most that the price increase was extreme….but my New Level 902 PD irons are some of the best feeling irons I have played.

Anyone get their clubs from New Level built to the wrong specs?  If so, how was your experience getting that resolved?

I ordered the NLU-01 with a 1 degree flat lie angle and it just was delivered with the sticker showing they actually built it upright from the standard lie angle.  I can’t find a phone number for them so I’m waiting for them to get back to me via email.

With Chez Reavie on the leaderboard I think he is already no longer with new level clubs. Saw him practicing with what looked like callaway irons. Also don’t see newlevel logo on his hat. That was a quick exit from sponsorship.

Based on the new owner’s pricing philosophy they probably wanted Reavie to pay them to use their clubs…. 😉

I haven’t looked at NL clubs in a long time. The new pricing is insane.

Yep, for $1200 you can have a set of New Level, or a set of Srixon, Mizuno, TM, Call, Ping, Cobra, or PXG.

Catching up on this thread and I will say I am glad I got my irons before the price hike.  Took advantage of the Black Friday deals last year and got me some 902OS iron heads and then the Gi22 iron heads.  I only play 7 thru PW/AW and a NLU-01 27* utility for my irons.  Playing the Gi22 irons right now and love em.  Very forgiving and give me good distance for my hacker swing, but as the ground has gotten baked and hard as a rock right now do to lack of rain here in MI I am itching to build my 902OS irons.   Have a feeling I will have the shafts ordered and that set built sometime in the next few weeks.

NL has lowered pricing. They are back to being a tremendous value. I bought a set of 902 PD/OS combos prior to the price increase. I figured it might be a rather short experiment and I would move back to a mainstream brand. I am playing some of my best golf ever with these clubs and am very pleased. I really think they compare very favorably to anything out there if you get the right specs and they have a model that fits your eye. I would highly recommend giving them a shot if there is a model you think you might like.

I bought the NLU-01 utility a while back and love it.  I've got a titleist fitting in a few weeks but I thought i'd give New Level a try.  I decided on the OS demo bent 1 weak (PD was not available) and ended up also buying a 58m wedge (partially I needed a new wedge and I also wanted to try a KBS wedge shaft).  The govX discount was nice.  I got them yesterday and they look and feel great just waggling around but I'm going to on course test them this week.  The lamkin grips are a huge improvement.  I wish they had the cord version but not a big deal.  I can use these grips until the spring without an issue. The size of the OS is a considerable change from my mp18 7 iron but it honestly doesn't bother me (and i'm pretty picky).  As others have said 'OS' is relative to the MB/CB/PD.  The comparison to a zx7 is pretty spot on to my eye.  I would guess these are close in size to the mizuno 223 for instance.

I will say that the wedge has a lot of offset and a very rounded leading edge compared to my vokeys.  We'll see if that causes me any issues but I doubt it.
