Can anyone explain the Miura iron offerings?

I've looked at the Miura website and I can't tell from their offerings which irons are more forgiving. Can someone explain which ones are and perhaps add a suggested category, such as, players, players distance, game improvement, super game improvement?

I think their CBs are possibly GI, don't think they make a true SGI. Mostly player's and player's CB iron....if haven't hit them, they are buttery smooth.

Passing Point series is probably their most forgiving.

My perspective having experience with several of the newer release models - from least to most forgiving

• Blades: obviously BB and MB101

• Blade/players CB Hybrid - MC501 - threw this in between because it is a blade, but I find it to be a bit less penalizing. Closer to players CB

• Players CB - CB1008 and TC201

• ”Regular” CB (not players, not SGI) - CB301

• Passing point most likely to be lumped in SGI, but I have no experience with them

The 601 would be your SGI.

PP-9003 are the most forgiving (of the one piece forged type anyway.) I just bought a set and they are incredible. Midsize, not SGI. About half way between players irons and GI. A true gem.

Of the current offerings the forgiveness increases left to right, top to bottom. The most forgiving would be the 601 and they would fall into the players distance category because they have a spring face. Similar to the Ping i500. The 301 would be similar in forgiveness but since they don't have the spring face the distance would be a little shorter, but they will have a more solid sound and feel.

The CB•301 is no slouch in terms of distance.

 

I get plenty, and then some from the 4-6 Irons. The 5 and 6 are bent weak too.

Plugged In Golf has a good review on the Miura CB 301 irons. The reviewer was underwhelmed with the forgiveness. In my opinion Plugged in Golf has the most honest straight forward reviews on golf clubs.

There is a graph and the upper right means more forgiveness. Some of the model names are slightly different (compared to American names) but you can figure out which is which.

Some people disagree with one of the model's positioning in the graph.

This graph is in-line with what all the other posters above said.

Many people would say ALL of them, even the more forgiving models, have the "Miura feel."

I own the Miura wedges but will get a set of the irons someday.

They’re an n of 1 and I’m an n of 1, but I actually game them, along with others including BB, MB101, MC501, TC201, and CB1008...

The 301s are hands down the most forgiving of those I’ve listed above.

That is forgiveness relative to other Miura offerings though. It is still a forged cavity back, so it’s not going to be as forgiving as a SGI shovel or a multi material like PXG XF series for example.

Does anyone want to venture a guess as to which one would be comparable to the Callaway Apex CF19 in say distance and forgiveness? Or any even a little more forgiving than the CF19's?

The CF19 irons are in a different class compared to the current Miura offerings, the hollow body jobby possibly excluded. They did offer a short lived spring steel head under the passing point nomenclature, but it wasn't very popular and it's now out of the lineup. Miura's heritage and strength is in the making of one piece forged steel heads. No welded faces, tungsten weights, or stick on badges.
