Just got the Gen 2 Mini Gunboat. Love it. I do like a softer feel putter face and would say PXG falls into the soft/solid feel.  Not mushy and not clicky.

Just got the Closer with plumbers neck. Only played two rounds with it, bit I'm really liking it. Agree with jmurdock on feel.

I have a PXG Gen2 Operator and it's awesome. It took me a while to get used to how to line it up, but now it's always going on the line I intend, I just need to work on putts beyond 10'. I highly recommend it and getting fit for one. I truly thought PXG putter's were an afterthought but they're really well crafted.

Anyone have a mini gunboat and have a reference for size compared to a "standard" (yes, understand that isn't a real thing) blade in width. Or maybe where it fits compared to a common mallet like a Spider X. 

 

I really want to try and find a mid-mallet size putter since I think I could use the extra forgiveness but everything seems to be so big and unfortunately not easy to just go down to the local store and mess around with PXG putters like I would do for anything else.

Thinking about picking one of these up before the sale ends today. Any more feedback from anyone. Have a new spider x but my distance control has been pretty bad with it so it must be the putter right?

I have a mini gunboat.  For size compared to a spider x, I think it is about the same length from toe to heel and maybe a touch shorter from front to back.  I too do not like big mallets and came from a TM Spider 2.0 mid mallet (similar to the lucky d).  Speed control with this putter has been outstanding, although I seem to leave more putts from 15-25 ft.  just short where I used to be 1-2 ft. past the hole.  All in all, I can not complain.

Get one!  Speed control has been awesome with my mini gunboat.  I do like the spider putters, but the weight is a little light for me.  This has a little more head weight it seems and is very consistent

Glad I didn't pull the trigger yesterday. Sale extended and increased for putters. Putters now down to $245...now I have to bite.

Which hosel and weights do you use? Now that the price is dropped again I'm really having a hard time not ordering one.

@KParks I went with the double bend shaft since I like a face balanced putter.  I got the weight kit, but sent it back.  The stock weight actually worked out really well.  I did play around with various weight settings, but again, the stock weighting worked.  The 4 weights in the toe and heel are 20g and the 2 in the back are 10g

Perfect info, thanks! I'm probably looking at the plumbers neck just cause that is the profile I'm used to and I know I want some toe hang and that seems like a nice middle ground. 

 

Did they charge you a restocking fee on the weight kit or just let you return it since you kept the putter?

They did not charge a restocking fee on the weight kit.  I think they only do that for clubs

Heh, not HQ, but I just signed up for one of the regular fittings nearby for two weeks from now to also focus on driver and putter...

anybody know the difference on the Operator putter from Gen 1 to Gen 2?  I'm really happy with my Gen 1 Operator H and would really be interested to know what the improvements are.  Thanks

Not sure what it does necessarily but they've switched to fewer heavier weights and put them all on the bottom in the Gen 2s instead of the top so (IMO) they all look MUCH better now. 

 

Also they've got the diamond mill face now when before I think it was more of screwed in lines. I'm sure the story is "better roll" or something (who knows if that is true) but, again, just looks better IMO.

Just got my Gen 1 Mustang C, only took a week for delivery. Here's a Comparison to Gen 2 Mustang. Both feel nearly identical off the face, with Gen 2 being a little mushier at times.

That center shaft is sick. Did you demo before purchasing? I want to demo it during me fitting if they have one. The Spitfire is my first try.

Just received a gen 1 dagger and it’s all milled face. Are there two different versions? One with the milled face and the other the TPE insert?

I've rolled it in the past and seem to roll center shafted putters the best. Prices are right, so I pulled the trigger last week.

I believe the Gen 1 Center shafted one had a milled face. Got a pic?

I wish I lived close to a fitting somewhere, but I am considering going with Gunboat.  I have a slight arc stroke so per what I read the plumbers neck may be best?  I cannot pass up on this deal!
