While two of the commish's  picks proved mighty sour today, all was not a stinker performance by me. On a grey afternoon the tough guys went out for a round. I was to be the coldest round I have played in this winter. It had lightly rained on and off all morning. On the first tee it was a damp 38 degrees. It felt rather raw. Right out of the gate the primo ball striking continued for me. Yes for an unprecedented 6th consecutive round I played a tad out of my shoes. How many birds? How many vomit doubles? None to both. I hit so many fairways and greens I was howling inside. Not one 3 jack either. 16 boring pars and 2 bogeys. My Heavens I shot a 2 over today.  It was so cold the Bic lighter would not operate to spark the Marley. I keep some matches in the bag as a back up 😛 as we winter warriors deal with extreme conditions and stay prepared. 😉  Well what can I say but keep that bus on the same route for me please. Six of my best winter rounds ever, in a ROW! 

 Today was quite fun. Hell this run I've been on for numerous weeks has been a hilarious blast. I turn the milestone 60 this year and am mighty grateful for nearly 40 years in this fantastic and unequaled game. It is very hard. It will always keep you humble and in check. Many can not sustain great play for very long. But when you are playing a smidge better than you normally do and it's rolling, it's a heck of a rush. I told ya I'm continuing to post my results here as there might be a chance that too is a contributing factor. 🙂

I think a bit of the magic I felt on the course today was a result of how much I was moved by Macklamore's statement from a few days ago. I couldn't have expressed the passion for golf any better.

Loved that video Greenone. My top three were #4 in 1rst, #7 in 2nd, and #1 in 3rd. Pavel Datsyuk in #4 had the moves combined with the little touch 60* wedge golf chip. It blew my mind. Thanks for entertaining the basement dweller.

Our temps along with the rain has not been conducive to golf.  Then overnight into this morning a little frozen rain set in...our ground is soaked and with it being that Orange County clay that doesn't drain well it should be wet for awhile.  I did get to lauch 'em last Thursday and also shot a 75...then I walked to the 15th...

Crosby burning Jose Theodore from my beloved Habs left a bad taste in my mouth.  Then I suffer through 2 shots by Mike Riberio who was a complete under-achiever in his Canadien career.  What a terrible video...

I was thinking how absolutely grand it would be for Jordan Spieth to win tomorrow. The entire golf world is pulling for him to be the comeback kid. That beautiful setting  Pebble Beach would make for a fine spot to earn that return win. I am pulling so hard for the Dallas kid. Even though mighty fidgety looking on the course, he plays with loud genuine passion and has an unique competitive fire. I am a large fan of that type of player. I myself am a vocal player, but of course always within the confines of proper golf etiquette. 😉  Now wayward drives derail a lot of trains. That is what has us concerned a bit, but when you can jar TWO approach shots over the weekend you can tug one and possibly get away with it. I am fortunately a very consistent driver of the ball. Mind you a crushed one goes 235. 😙  but finding the middle of the fairways all day for me leads to my best scores. I missed 1 fw during my 2 over round. I hope Jordan's jittery meter only reaches medium tomorrow and he finds for the most part center cut drives in the final round.                    Go SPIETH!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now I am going to have a glass of wine and then return to tell you dudes something cool. Jordan Spieth is kinda involved. 🤯

I met Chef Parker 25 years ago when we opened a fine dinning restaurant together  on the Vegas Strp. He and I have remained good friends ever since. Prior to the business opening we worked at the NY NY Casino's main employment center. We did that for four months. Chef was of course fielding applications for kitchen positions all day while I was doing the hiring of servers, bartenders, cocktail lassies, and hostesses.

Yes indeed your commish who was accustomed to working nights and getting off late back in D.C. now found himself doing a Monday to Friday daytime Human Resources gig . What an adjustment. I brown bagged my lunch each day and took it to the Muni course near downtown Vegas off MLK Blvd . I'd smack a small bucket sometimes, but mostly just chipped and putted while eating my sandwich. It was hot as hell out there but I had to get my practice in. Chef would join me down at Muni on occasion. We both very much enjoyed the game of golf.  The two of us were quite busy interviewing and hiring employees for the new place in the early days so we didn't have a great deal of time to play a full round of golf. On occasion we did play 9.  He was an Englishman and I a mid western brat. Together we worked our tails off once that restaurant opened and became good friends and golf buddies.
