Same here. Monday seems to be the magic time when we froze. I know its just time until we get things fixed.

It's still that way right now, for me.  There are unread threads at the top of my list, because I have never read them.  But they are from Monday.

 

Have you read the link I posted a few posts 4 posts above your post ?

 

If so, does that cover your issue ?

As busy as this site is I'd say not in a minute or 2 but why are we nitpicking ?

 

You tell the site to mark itself "read" and ONLY something posted after that will show. End of story.

Yes, I know that. After a few hours, I have always found new content, until today. It's been about 18 hours now and no new content. Perhaps no one has posted anything during that time? lol

Forgive me if I wasn't clear enough. BTW, did you read the thread I posted that link to ? In it it says "All(?) of the searches are broken.

 

This includes "Unread Content", "Content I posted", "Content I Started", and "Search". NONE of these searches are "seeing": any posts since roughly 11PM Monday, Aug 24."

 

If you've click on "Mark site read" SINCE Monday at roughly 11 PM you shouldn't be seeing ANYTHING come up of most(?) of those links as "Search" cannot find anything posted since Monday 11PM.

 

Now, you say "After a few hours I have always found new content". Has that been SINCE Monday 11PM AND since you clicked on "Mark site read" ? Or was that BEFORE Monday ?

I didn't encounter any problems until today. Since the upgrade I could click on "Mark site read", and a few hours later click on "Unread content" and new content would appear. Before today, everything was fine. 

 

All I am telling you is my experience. You seem a bit hostile about it.

Search servers are reindexing. Expected fix is tonight/tomorrow. Nothing much anything people can do till then.

Hostile is too strong a word. A bit peeved might work though.

 

You'd get annoyed to if you spent 30+ years repeating yourself to people who can't be bothered to read and who can't be clear when answering questions from people who are trying to help them.

 

How's this ? It's broken.

@nsxguy Do you realized this topic a merge of multiple topics?  So no, I had not seen your PSA.  It was not contained in the topic I originally posted into, and when I followed my post into the merged thread, I didn't go backwards to read above it.  I mean, if any of us HAD read your PSA, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have kept asking about or citing the problem.  R-e-l-a-x.   ?

 

If there was any pre-indexing/ shutdown warning published to the users, I definitely didn't see that either.

For whatever reason the last couple days when I click on " Unread Content" it goes back to last Monday. Has been working fine since the latest revision but just started this. To read everything new I have to go to each of the Forums individually.

 

Any ideas of a fix??

By your wording I expect you already know this. "Unread Content" seems to work, but just in case -  "Content I post in",,,,,,,, not yet.

Right now, I get unread threads from the past hour, and then a jump back to a few days ago.  Maybe Nixon's secretary erased the tape!

 

Anyway, it looks like it will smooth out in the coming days.

Noticed that as well.  Not surprised to see the gap while the system was misbehaving.

 

Now if they could fix the Content I Started to actually show anything, we would be really on to something.

That is probably the expected behavior.

"Pre-migration" ? Or "pre-reindexing" (since the issue popped up Monday around 11 PM) ?

 

I obviously didn't read as much Unread Content as Snowman and Socrates did but as I page through right now I do see the gap. But in this case the gap is a little strange. I see "2 hrs (ago)", then "11 and 17 hours ago", and then "3dys" (Monday 11 PM no doubt).

 

So some things are showing up between Monday 11PM and now but not all.

 

Does that mean as the indexing keeps going, as we're up and running and that various searches will be "filled in" bit by bit until the indexing is totally completed ?

Right, it is what it is because of the two different systems. Not sure if indexing will fix everything but there is nothing much else to be done.
