Footjoy Icons, good for walking?

Majority of my rounds are walking rounds (40-50 rounds last year)  Curious how supportive and comfortable the Icons are for walking?

 

My feet are huge (16EE) so I have to rely on reviews and trial and error to find shoes.  Thanks!

I have had two pair of icons, and I didn't like them for walking.  They are not as comfortable as dryjoy tours to me.

Icons or Icon Blacks? Big difference.  I have Icon Blacks and with their cork footbed I find they're very comfortable to walk in.  Great stability.  Unfortunately I believe they are discontinued.

Too heavy for walking, Dryjoy Tours a much better option but don't think I would wear either with all the offerings from Nike,Adidas,New Balance etc. that have a history of making running/walking shoes.

I love the older Icons. I have tried a lot of the other stuff and it never worked like an Icon. I do have a pair of FJ Contours that I actually like. First shoe other than the Icon that felt good.

Nike and Adidas are out, I think the largest the go in golf shoes is 15 and aren’t near wide enough.  I’ve been wearing New Balance but the toe box is a little crowded.  Was intrigued by the XXW option of the Icons.  
 

In my size my options are the Pro S/L and the icon.  Neither of which I’m crazy about but at my size I have to take what I can get 😊

Honestly, I would wait for the Premiers to come out.  I found them to be a better shoe.

They look sharp but I’m guessing they won’t have my size 🤷🏻‍♂️

Great shoes for walking.  Highly recommended.  I’ve got 12 pairs and walk almost exclusively.

They are fine for walking but certainly not as light and comfortable as some of the new spikeless knit type shoes offered by most manufacturers.

I have regular Icon’s and Icon Blacks. The Icon Blacks are the more comfortable of the two but I have never found the regular Icons uncomfortable. I would genuinely have to think that anyone who finds them uncomfortable to walk in is either wearing the wrong size of doesn’t walk enough in the first place.

I have a couple of pairs of Icons and though slightly on the heavy side they are comfortable for walking.

You could always design a pair of Shield Tips as I think that you can get 16EE

Fully agree. Great shoe. Plus I don't think Footjoy put much effort in marketing the Blacks.

Honestly, never understood why they didn’t. The Blacks were and are absolutely incredible. So so comfortable and looked like a golf shoe...seemed to be a win win for me.

Not sure if the icon blacks are different than the icon shield tip.  The shield tio are the only ones on their site in my size

They are, the Blacks had a cork fitbed. I have five pairs of Icons currently in the rotation. I think with one pair, they needed a little breaking in but the rest were no bother at all. Honestly, well worth it.
