Golfworks full cord tommy armour $.99 grips

Just an FYI that golfworks has .99 full cord grips in thier deal section.  Picked up 60...hoping they are good

Pretty good feeling grip, lots of cord but sanded down so you don’t have that rough cord that i remember in an old golf pride grip.  Rubber at top and bottom feel fresh, great low risk option for sets you are going to turn over or for friends and family jobs.

very classic looking grips with the single line texture and red fill. I'd give them a shot if they were available on the Canadian site.

Do you have any opinion on the sizing? Some grips seem to be thinner or thicker than expected.

I would say they feel thinner than i would have thought.

Would be curious how they stack up to the GolfPride Z-Cord. That one is also about 50g, on the slim side, and firm like these. Great score for sure, and at $0.99, there's no worry about trying to remove and reuse them if you are doing any testing with lengths, SW, etc. Nice find for sure.

I ordered 25 last week, as well. I figure that they’ll be great for my old vintage sets that need grips but only get hit in the simulator or on the course a few times a year. 
 

To anyone that has them in hand, is the Tommy Armour script and TA logo only on one side, ie can input them logo down for a cleaner look?

Logo down,     in fairness someone left a review at golf works saying they were old and crusty, i don’t think i would say the same.

That is perfect. For the MacGregors, I could care less. The TA actually ties in. The others are sets of Hogans so the Red/Black will look good logo down.

Beware that you may end up with some unusable grips. Out of my 25, 5 of them are made out of something that I can only describe as styrofoam-like. Golfworks was great and refunded what I paid but I have never seen anything like it, besides 20-40 year old grips. I was able to crush them, like potato chips, “crunch!” Sound included.

I just got my 30 yesterday. I’ll have to check all of them out now.

Give them a roll and pinch, as well. Some of mine would make a cracking noise when I did that but remained flexible enough that I couldn’t snap them like a dried twig.

Dry rot? Would make sense that they'd be in stock forever if they're pricing them to sell them like that.

That’s kind of what it is like but they seem way too new for that. It was so strange. They were stiff and extra crispy.

Checked the ones I bought and they are perfect. Pretty good grips for a buck. Wish I would have bought more.

Looks like they took them down...either ran out or too much hassle.  About 4 of my 60 had to be thrown away.    Sorry if my recommendation cost you, wasn’t my intent.

Not at all. They refunded me for all 25 grips even though 15-20 were usable.

So what's up with golfworks not offering free shipping for the past 6 months.  Normally in the past they'd offer free shipping over $60 once a month or so and since covid/golf boom, they've gotten greedy and haven't offered any shipping discount.

 

I'm stubborn and have had things sitting in my cart for 6 months now, patiently waiting....

Bringing this thread back from the dead.  

 

Anyone actually used the grips, and how are they holding up?  I ordered a few when the sale was on, but haven't actually installed any to try yet...they're still sitting in the same box as when I ordered them, albeit in a nice & cool location.
