Ping G425 Max driver - Oddity for Slow Swinger

Hello All:

IMHO the Ping 425 Max driver is very odd... because when I set the driver to the open settings, the ball fades/slices and when I switch to the closed settings the ball pulls/hooks - ODD.  I've never experienced this with the newer adjustable drivers; usually, I get the same ball flight regardless of setting which for me is different degrees of pulled shots.

Also, I usually don't like senior shafts because with this flex, my ball flight is usually too high and short (with no control) also my home course is windy.  I bought this driver with the new SR Alta shaft which to me is a more stout shaft then the usual whippy senior shafts and some regular flex shafts - ODD.  I played regular flex with previous Ping G drivers and generated massive pulls.  I have a tendency to speed up my swing and generate an out of play pull but with this driver my pull looks to be playable (driving range) also this driver is closer to straight then many drivers past and present.

Ping website states that the standard 425 Max movable weight is 26g but my driver has a 29g weight - ODD.  Note:  the movable weight has an effect on ball flight - ODD.  Eye ball test, the driver length looks standard when compared to my 45" driver.  From my preliminary experiences, this driver feels heavier then usual and longer then my current driver plus previous modern drivers I've owned - ODD.  Isn't a lighter driver supposed to be better for us slow swingers?

I'm usually a fan of low spin drivers regardless of distance because I'm more accurate with them - Titleist TS3 (plus older 3's) and the 425 Max is a lower spin driver even with the SR shaft  - ODD.

Given this level of TRUE adjustability, I may just keep this driver for awhile.  Note:  for me, Forgiveness = Accuracy above all else.

Lowering loft opens the face, adding loft closes the face.  This is true IF you don't adjust the face angle at address.  You need to address the ball with the proper shaft angle to square the face, it's probably not working for you visually somehow.

Am I missing something here? Closed face by design should pull/draw/hook & opposite for open face. There’s a pinned thread on adjustability. Basically don’t ground your club if not in the neutral setting.

I know a guy, Flynn, who goes to the casino and only plays roulette, he will only put his money on black... that’s ODD. No, I mean it even. Even numbers I mean. But it’s odd. Grrr. God. See, I find odd that he only bets his money on even even though his brother Todd doesn’t find it odd and even though his brother Steven only puts money on even. You should know that Steven is a vegan which is why he only bets even. And the the best part is when the brothers go to the casino, they play roulette together, and between Steven and Flynn, someone’s bound to win... except when it lands on green, which is just mean, cause with only two zeros, that leaves two out of thirty eight, so the odds are great, that the brother would win, f**k this, just buy a SIM.

You must be in the northern hemisphere. Fly to Australia and hit it there then report back.

Yes, it's odd that it's working for my inconsistent swing.  Adjustable drivers don't usually work as intended for me which is why I really like this driver so far.  I agree Ping's CB shafts are good
