So now that Checo has signed to 2024, does that mean Gasly goes to McLaren next year so he and Lando can show how teamwork is done?

I heard McLaren was interested in Indy drivers Colton Herta and Pato O'Ward.

It will certainly be interesting domino if Riccardo leaves McLaren. Where does he go? It could trigger several moves and a bunch of swaps. Merc, Red Bull and Ferrari seem to be the only teams that will have their drivers locked going into next season. Maybe include Alfa in that group as well.

A move by McLaren could trigger moves at Alpine (Alonzo back to McLaren maybe?) Aston Martin with Vettel potentially retiring, but hopefully Stroll getting the boot. Haas could very well shake things up again and Williams would be wise to drop Latifi as soon as they can. Not a lot of seats, but lots of potential for drivers to move around.

Hard part I imagine is if Riccardo does get dropped he is looking at best a seat with Williams or Aston Martin. Hard to imagine another higher profile team taking a chance on him at this stage.

Alpine has a ton of quality juniors coming up that would like a seat. I think Alonzo is the only old guy with a shot at a seat next year and it could be outside of Alpine.

Seb will likely be gone next year.

How about Alfa Romeo replacing Zhou?

Zhou is clearly underperforming compared to Bottas and his contract ends this year.

But yes Latifi has to go and even Stroll.

Oscar Piastri deserves a seat.

It's tough because Bottas is really good. He has had a few unfortunate hits, but overall not bad for a rookie. I would give him at least a full season.

Stroll's dad won't get rid of his son at Aston Martin. His dad is the chairman/owner of the team.

I think his dad might be looking to sell soon. 🤣

But there was talk of him trying to get Mick since it looks like he might get axed at Haas and Stroll wants to sell cars in Germany.

He already has a 4 time German world driver champion, Seb, on his team and even has a German reserve/back up driver in Nico H. Mick hasn't accomplished anything in F1 to date. I mean outside of being a better driver than Mazepin at Haas. How would Mick sell more cars in Germany than Seb?

Seb will likely be done at the end of this year, but I don't think Mick will be in F1 next year.

I love Seb, but his heart doesn't seem to be in it. Maybe it's the car, but he seems like he's just showing up to get his check. While I can't blame him for that, there are only 20 seats and a ton of guys waiting for a shot.

Alonzo is still driving like his champion self, but he should also step aside because he's proven all he needs to in F1.

We all know that but he is still a ---- driver. Just crashed twice in qualifying in Baku.

It is such a shame a driver like Oscar Piastri does not get seat but then it is just the nature of the sport. Money talks.

A bit of a snoozer overall, but please please can we see Latifi and Stroll gone. Latifi with 2 Penalties and 30 plus seconds behind second last. Stroll 8 places behind Vettel before retiring.

Both are simply liabilities out there.

Certainly a entertaining season with so much changing race to race.

I'm not really sure what Alonso is trying to achieve given it would take a few more years for Alpine to potentially be a regular race winning team or championship contender.

By then he would be way too old.

Maybe he wants to be the oldest F1 World Champion ever. 😅

He might be old, but he's driving as good as ever. But he has nothing to prove, I'd like to see him give his seat. But I also love watching him drive, damn.

Alonso proved his greatness in 2010 and 2012 whilst in the inferior Ferrari, he almost was able to beat the dominant Vettel and Red Bull.

Hell, the Alpine is maybe the 4th fastest car on the grid and he runs it up front all the time. Give him a little rain to level the field and he can win, no doubt. But he will never get another title and Alpine has 3 dudes waiting for a shot.

I dont know, that seems like a poorly written article to be honest.

Stroll didn't say any of those things to his son - although the headline certainly implies it was him. This is Johnny Herbert of all people speculating what Lawrence Stroll might/should be saying?

Not saying it shouldnt happen BTW - just seems like clickbaity writing.
