Oh I think they are very much relevant this season.  Not only that, their customer teams are showing strong as well.

They put in work with Shell on the new E10. They redesigned the heads and reworked the combustion. I think they have the package at least to start and now with K-Mag Haas has a possible top 10 car. 

 

Poor Williams is looking dead last this year.

Ferrari has been looking good since the start of testing. Red Bull looks close, but Gasly caught fire and both RB's failed, so that isn't a great start.

So when does Russell overtake Hamilton? My guess is by race 5. Hamilton looked on point today, but the Mercedes looked like it had issues. Also the note about the bottom 6 all being Merc powered was an interesting point.

 

K-Mag looked fantastic in the Haas. The Ferrari PU is the mill to beat.

Cant remember the last time I saw two engine failures on a top team like today. What an ending. Has to be a concern for RB going into next weekend especially with Gasly's car catching fire like it did.

 

Great ending, best they could hope for - but the Mercs looked flat out awful. Late in the race they were 38 seconds off the lead. Thats not a small change or something one part can fix - thats a *major* situation.

 

Awesome to have racing back, really hoping to get to the Miami race this year.

Has anyone ever bought tickets through the official F1 site? I thought I had entered my email address way back when it said "enter here to be notified when tickets are on sale" - then they just skipped straight to sold out. Is it possible closer to the race they have more tickets up for sale? Not really interested in some of the "package" pricing especially when the hotels are in downtown Miami - which is a ways away from the track itself.

Same thing happened, lost the last 5 minutes of Q3.

 

Even as a Merc fan, I think these changes are great for the sport. Its better for the fans to have Ferrari and Alpha Tauri up there and even teams like Haas throwing cars into the Top 10.

It's just crazy that last year Mercedes had the power unit. But the work Ferrari put into the engine for the E10 change is paying off for all their customers. 

 

I'm still blown away by what K-Mag is doing. New track, zero P1 time, he's showing just how good he is. The Haas he drove last was garbage, but this car is legit middle field.

Ya, having all those running Merc engines at the back of the pack is telling. Ham will need more than a new floor/aero upgrade to compete at the front.

I'm not a fan of this track. The blind corners are too much, just look at that helmet cam level. I do hope it's a safe race today.

That was a great race, but too bad for Checo, that sucked. See how long they stay friendly, but I think they will. So much respect for both of them.

Max is a whiney boy. The VSC put him on the rear of Chuck.. But what a battle for the win. New regs are in effect.. Now if F1.5 could catch up!
