While Mollie is selling to the sponsors everyday, somebody will do marketing:

Roberta Bowman retired from the position.  This remainded open since the beginning of the season.   Glad to see that they finally filled the position.  I notice the emphasis on broadcast content along with digital and social content.  We will see how that transpires.

One step at a time:

I thought Golf Digest previously tried to launch something similar

i.e. a "Golf for women" magazine/blog with Stina Sternberg?

When Mollie released her $86.5 million 2022 LPGA schedule in January; she hasn't had sponsors lined up for DIO Implant, Palos Verdes and Portland.  She managed to find sponsors in time for all those three events and the total purse has now increased to $93.5 million.

We rarely see her making any noises on herself; but quietly she got the job done, beautifully.

As expected, the competition among the majors:

I dunno if its competition per se, hasnt the Evian had problems with top players/marketable players skipping the tournament? Lexi, Kang, Green, Feng were some players who skipped it in 2021. That might have been due to the olympics but its been an issue previously for the tournament as well, a lot of players openly hate the course, its barely treated as a major by a many as well, and most of the viewers likely share the same belief as well.

Shape of things to come:

US Soccer agrees to equal pay deal

"(CNN)The United States Soccer Federation (USSF), the United States Women's National Team Players Association (USWNTPA) and the United States National Soccer Team Players Association (USNSTPA) have agreed to a deal that achieves "equal pay and set the global standard moving forward in international soccer."

Absolute rubbish.  Nonsense.  Any and all increases in purses are directly and solely attributable to the new commissioner.

As are increased televised hours, more lefthanders playing golf, and puppies adopted from pounds.

Interesting, but this is a golf forum.

Fun fact the women are technically losing money with this new deal unless the USMNT starts to show up internationally. If you followed the whole kerfuffle, the women chose a more even pay structure with bigger insurance, and benefits compared to the men who went with basically no money unless they won. This was all due to the leagues they play in, in non-world cup years. Mens team made next to nothing if they dont play in the WC and other events, because their home clubs/MLS are large enough to not need to worry. Where as the women wanted the mens deal after they started winning, and wanted the safer deal before that.

There is a whole lot to this new deal, but its not finally reaching equality like the titles state. The teams had their chance and the two teams chose different revenue splitting and structures.

Pretty good article on endorsements in golf.

The inside story of pro golf’s sponsorship game | The Star

While Henderson is prominently featured in the story, I see that they were not able to speak to her, her father, or her agent about the deals, relying instead on what appears to be the generic quote out of the Golftown news release.

Not really surprised, they don't seem like the type to discuss money, IMG didn't comment either only some other smaller management firms.

Also it's the Star, I think thorough investigative journalism left that place about decade ago

it actually ran almost a month ago, well 2 1/2 weeks ago in Score Magazine.   Hendersons generally do not speak to anyone other than their set agreements with Bob Weeks and Adam Stanley and not withstanding tournaments.
