Sheer numbers.

There is such a large number of male professionals/aspiring professionals compared to the women.  I've not seen any data on it, but my thought is that there is probably 3-5 males trying to reach the PGA to every female trying to make it as a professional on the LPGA/JLPGA/LET/KLPGA.

It's just anecdotal on my part but that seems to be what is occuring.

This.............

It used to be Asians and Asian descents are good at women's golf, but nondescript in men's golf; not anymore.  Three of the Top-10 in men's golf are either Asians or Asian descents:

2.    Collin Morikawa

7.     Xander Schauffele

10.   Hideki Matsuyama

Of course it's a far cry from women's golf where eight of the Top-10 are either Asians or Asian descents.

What're the secrets?  It can't be physical or techniques.  It may be mental, the mental discipline of training and stay the course during the tournaments.

What does this or many of your other posts in this thread have anything to do with purses and/or endorsements?

If anything, a post like the above would be more suited in the Odd & End thread.

BUT

Let me guess.

You want "filler" material in this thread because you thought you'd be posting a lot on all these endorsements and BIG announcements for the unmarketable Nelly that have not come the fruition.🤣

@Golf Dino pretty well explained the men's side.

I will make a discussion why the women's side is skewed with many of Asian descent.

The Korean ADDICTION to golf and the Korean parents pushing their daughters to be the next Se Ri Park.

We already know of many great LPGA Korean pros.

I just eye balled it....I  believe of the 16 Asian descent LPGA pros not playing under an Asian flag.....I believe 15 are of Korean descent....a coincidence....I think not.....the exception is Angel Yin.

For your information, 2021-2022 Strokes Gained Putting:

#151                                   Hideki Matsuyama                                  -0.191

#55                                    Sangjae Im                                                0.289

#4                                      Collin Morikawa                                        0.927

You're right, men's Asian influences are still ripples rather than tides even if we include Sangjae Im, Kevin Na, Siwoo Kim, Min Woo Lee and Takumi Kanaya.  But, it's come a long way.

Gone are days when Ryo Ishikawa was a bright Japanese hope!

Mina Harigae            (Japanese)

Megan Khang           (Hmong and Laotian)

Lilia Vu                      (Vietnamese)

Yes...good catch...as I said I was eyeballing it and wasn't sure of it's accuracy.

So 15 of 19 are of Korean descent....still a very strong Korean majority.

Khang seems to be everyone's friend on the LPGA

Sean2 doesn't seem to be posting on WRX anymore???....he is friends with Khang's dad and has played golf with Megan.

Mina has been on tour for awhile and I consider her a journeywoman golfer, but she has performed well in the past 2 years?

Due to PXG??

Kaboom Baby!🤣

One down, and many more to go:

USWNT, U.S. Soccer Federation settle equal pay lawsuit for $24 million

"The USSF has also committed to providing an equal rate of pay going forward for the women's and men's national teams "in all friendlies and tournaments, including the World Cup." The issue of World Cup bonuses had long been a point of contention for the players."

Workday, gone; KPMG, gone!

Amy is not worried....good riddance KPMG.

FIGJAM will be sporting this logo at the Masters....rumor is a $50M per year....5 year endorsement contract.

Plus....a $15M bonus when Lefty is hitting NASTY bombs at Augusta National and winning by 10 strokes.

Hideki will be proud putting the green jacket on Phil and all the locker room attendants will rejoice with C-notes being handed out like Skittles...nuff said.🤣

This is something Mollie needs to change, healthy pension and meaty insurance plans are bare minimum for LPGA players:

The LPGA pros are independent contractors...so why should the LPGA pay them a pension or a benefits package...they are not LPGA employees.

If I'm an independent contractor or consultant to a company on a fixed term contract....unlikely I'll be paid any pension or benefits.

I don't know what it's like in the states....but might guess it's kinda to Canada.

Nowadays....very few private sector companies in Canada offer new employees a pension plan.

Some may offer a 50% match to a maximum of $5000 to employees who contribute money into a RRSP....likely within an insurance company RRSP that the company has a partnership with.

And the the company RRSP $ match contribution will be a taxable benefit to the employee.

In order to obtain a health benefits package in retirement....one will have to work for the company for decades and retire from the company

More insight:

Hmmm....is the $7500 a guise for the PGA tour to hide the OBNOXIOUS GREED that Phil was talking about.🤣

If I'm reading this correctly....and assuming it's accurate....the PGA tour is paying the $7500 to the loop?...... or is the $7500 mandated....and coming from the employer (the PGA pro).

Again...why should the PGA tour contribute to a loop's health insurance if the loop's employer is the PGA tour pro and not the PGA tour.

Congratulations Amari Avery; the 'Tigress'!  Would like to see both Alexa Pano and her playing LPGA in 2023:

Pano and Avery will turn 18 this year...they are #68 and #147 in WAGR.

IMO...unless there surge up in WAGR rankings in the next 3 years....I don't see them becoming contenders nor stars on the LPGA.

IMO...my litmus test stops at approx #10 in WAGR if a gal is capable of some level of good form on the LPGA.

Yes, indicated (= predicted, at least I will claim it but honestly what I expected) by me in the Stacy Lewis thread (not keeping on that thread topic😂 just for @ChronicSlicer🤣 -raised by me in that thread due to Phil and Stacy's KPMG link so I can claim a weak reason to segue on that thread......maybe🙂).

FIGJAM now takes on a new meaning F I'm Gone, Just Ask Me.

If I was Stacy or Leona, I'd be hitting up KPMG for a sponsorship increase, there's room in the budget and both have seen their stocks rise in the last month.

What a world - Covid, Ukraine and now Phil, who'd have thunk it?

Hurry up and get the LPGA back playing so less of these tenuous distractions.
