What an interesting bag. Two fairway woods, a hybrid and two 5 irons? (Though I know the Hot Metal one is much lower lofted than the 223.) Then no wedge between 46 or whatever he has the 223 at, and 56?

I think I will be buying a set of the 223's. Such a nice looking CB and exactly what I want - no frills, low offset, no plastic or rubber stick on things.  I wish they just said Mizuno and didn't have "pro" or the bird logo on them....

 

Edit to add: I take back the comment on the 223's not having rubber or plastic on them.  I guess the part that says 223 actually is a rubber or plastic insert.

I was planning on buying a new set next year and was having a hard time deciding which Mizuno model to get, I just made up my mind, the 223.

I was between Srixon ZX7 and waiting for Mizuno to replace my aging MP5s next year… agree on the 223, they look amazing. Was thinking of only combo’ing them at the top of the set but the address view looks good enough to play them right through!

 

drop a 50,55,60 T22 in there to finish it out

Been a mizuno guy for a long time and looks are all about opinion but I’m obviously missing something about the 223. At address it’s nice but man that thing is ugly from the back. Switched from my old MP52 to mp20 mb early this year and was kinda disappointed in the feel. To the point i sold them and went 21 T100. My old muscle cavity were softer than the blades. The HMB is possibly one of the worst irons I’ve ever hit as well. Hope mizuno made some improvements on this model. The 223 back leaves a lot to be desired imo.

Sabbatini has a setup typical of what you see out of a lot club players: TM woods, Mizuno irons, Vokey wedges, cameron putter

223s look awesome from address but very happy to stick with my MP-20 MMCs. Slightly bigger, better looking cavity and feel amazing

We’re probably in the minority, but I agree. These are some of the ugliest MPs I’ve seen from the back. I’m sure they will look better in person though.

Ha so that's an X-stiff shaft and the 9 just refers to the weight in grams. So that shaft is 94 grams, a good weight for a hybrid shaft. Whereas the same x flex shaft in a driver would be 6X (65g) or 7X (76g), for example.

I am getting my pre-ordered Mizuno Pro 223 set on Oct. 15, which is the official release date in the far east.  I'll post some photos comparing these with my current gamers (P7MC).
