Top Golf Driving Range

Went to Top Golf and had a blast. Try it this winter. A lot of fun.

The balls are limited flight but still very fun.

So I've had a couple of questions about Top Golf if anyone knows the answer.

1. Does their tracking system take into account the limited flight nature of the balls.  So maybe the ball only travels 150 yards but it reports 170 because that's how far a normal golf ball would have gone.

2. The only Top Golf I've gone to is 3 stories tall (I assume they are all multiple stories).  If you hit from the top level, does the tracking system slope adjust your distance to report as if you were hitting from the ground level.

 

Just trying to figure out if any of the numbers their system spits out are meaningful.  If not that's fine, some of the games are still fun.

I'm starting to suspect my Pro V1's are also flight limited as well. 😀

Yea, it's still fun to take your bag and focus on getting close to the pin for game points I noticed at the 175 mark I use my 200 yard club. Not as restricted closer in obviously. Other thing I noticed with my local top golf and golf shack is the swing and ball metrics are way off. Disappointing, but keeps me there to not focus on anything but hitting straight shots and most of all having a good time. Especially with non golf friends.

Interesting note: About half the TopGolf customers are non-golfers. New owner Callaway looking to leverage this into creating new golfers.

I have not tried it yet, but am looking forward to it eventually. Once I get the wife playing more, I think it would be a blast to take my grandson. He's been a few times already.

Top Golf is a game, not a round of golf. Go with friends, drink, eat, enjoy. It can be fun.

Yeah make sure you go on Tuesday’s. It is half off. Not real golf but a great time. The Fort Myers Top Golf is the one I went to. Try it and I bet you like it. Good food and good beer.
