Can this dethrone my Gen3 XP 3iron (17*) that I use as a driving iron? Less offset has me very intrigued as well as the darkness finish….gota go hit this

Oh man, I’m interested.  The Gen2 driving iron is what got me to pay attention to PXG, now I play the driving iron, Gen4 irons and Gen4 driver.  I will definitely be testing this out…

This.  They finally came out with one.  Originally customer service told me they were doing away with the driving iron lineup except for the Tour Pros.  Hopefully the lineup expands and they add more shafts and more lofts (hoping for a 20 or 21*).

Anyone hit this? I love driving irons conceptually but never got along super well with the various ones I’ve tried.

The gen2 was for me. I sold mine regrettably after I told myself to learn driver better. Might revisit although the top of my bag is crowded with a super hybrid and sub70 3h

I think I’m going to take the plunge here. This thing looks exactly like what I’ve been looking for: low launch, low spin, hot face, solid feel, great lines, minimal offset, no chunky sole like other driving/utility irons. Only question I have: how do you utilize the custom weight porting in the back if you don’t get fit for it first? Do they send you multiple weights to change out? Do you use them to order a build to a specific swing weight (don’t see the option on the website to order at a specific SW)? This will be my first experience with PXG. Pretty excited about it. Thing looks sexy AF and like a real low missile launcher.

The Gen4 line, the fitter has the ability to replace the big weight during the fitting to dial in SW, they don't want consumers replacing the weight as they glue it in and do not offer the weights for sale. If you want a specific SW without seeing a fitter, you'll need to call them and speak to a tele-fitter. No way to specify on website orders.

Yes, Gen4 has priority. I just bought my friend a driver and they shipped out in 3 days, had it in 5.

I ordered a set of the 0211STs over a week ago (11/28) and they haven’t shipped yet. I think as someone else above said, though, that Gen4 takes priority over the 0211 line and anything else.

Yup, Gen4 goes first. But, a few minutes ago my 0211 ST ordered on 11/26 arrived. Shipped on 12/3 left PHX on 12/4.

Love the new driving iron! Thinner sole and topline than my gen 2 0311 X #4 iron. It is hard to compare distance vs my 4i because I’m hitting the new one almost 30 yards farther! Also plenty forgiving on mishits. I let my brother hit it and he wants to pick one up. He also found the middle of the fairway both times he used it.

How’s it off the deck? Really want to get one but means I’d either be taking my 5W or 3HY out..

No problem hitting it off the deck, actually took Sim 19 degree hybrid out of bag because of better ball flight and accuracy for me.

I have a Sim 19 degree hybrid and was wondering if this could replace it…wow!

I paired it with the hzrdus smoke. I am getting  a straight very low ball flight. On mishits Im getting about 10-20 fewer yards. It has been a little harder for me to hit a draw which is consistent shot shape for me with my irons. I would say less forgiveness than Sim, but trade off is worth it to me. Hope info helps.

I would hope it would go farther as it’s prob a little longer shaft and almost 4 degrees stronger loft than the Gen2 0311X 4iron.  
 

nice to hear that’s it’s thinner than the Gen2 but still really forgiving.  The Gen 2 0311X was always going to be hard to beat as it’s so easy to hit.  Still my go to club on short par 4’s and love hitting it off the deck.  
 

really want to pull the trigger on this but need to wait until they come out with a 3i or possibly 4I and not just the 2i.  
 

what weight did you go with on the Hzrdus?  Did they have a choice or just one weight?  I bet a GOST shaft in that bad boy would be 🔥.  I like a heavier shaft in my hybrids and really think it could do the same for me in a driving iron.  Helps me with control but let’s me go after it without feeling like I’m losing it.
