Harry Taylor rangefinder

Does anyone here have experience with the HT-1000 model? I couldn't find much with an internet search, but my computer skills are suspect, at best. Any help is appreciated.

I've had 2 top of the line Bushnell Rangefinders and both of them crapped out on me after 3-4 years of use.  I've never dropped them, nor subjected to water (even though they're water resistant).  After that, I vowed never to buy one as they're overpriced and cheaper ones of lesser known brands does he same job as the inside circuitry are very similar to each other.  I've been using a Caddytek I bought from Ebay from $120 CDN about 5 years ago and is still going strong.

 

Bottom line, just get one that fits your needs and price range regardless of brand.  20 years ago they were considered a luxury item but now because of increased competition from other companies, rangefinders are a now commoditized item like golf tees.

This is the exact range finder that I have.  I am pretty satisfied with it especially since it was a gift from my dad! It’s been with in a yard or two of everyone else’s range finders that I’ve compared it against. It holds a great charge. It has a USB port to charge it. I think I would’ve preferred the battery, but I just have to remember to charge it occasionally. I’ve put 5+ rounds on it and I’ve never actually had it die or the low battery light come on for me. I really don’t know how long it can go. 
 

range finder is nice. I with the scope screen or whatever you’d call it was a little bigger. I’m used to it now so no big deal, but when I first got it I thought it felt like the view was a little small. 
 

id buy it again. I’m satisfied with the product

I’ve had a pretty basic Leuopold that I bought on here like 10 years ago and it still works great.

It's gotten to the point that there are dozens of brands that use the same internals with different housings. I got a Gogogo this year, after losing my Nikon, and the less than $100 Gogogo is better than the $200 Nikon. The one thing you want to be sure to get is flag lock. It cuts the time it takes to get a reading in half.

Yeah.  That is one feature that I want to have if my current range finder craps out.  I have to do 2-3 readings on the flagstick to confirm the distance in the meantime.

Me personally I prefer to have my rangefinders to have separate removable batteries since lithium ion batteries that are permanently installed in some rangefinders lose their ability to hold their charge over time.  It is a pain in the a** to replace them (if that is even possible in the first place so you might have to throw the whole thing away).
