Received an email on Friday and it looks like early February tee times should be getting a booking link this week sometime.

Have tee times booked for March 22/23. Karoo x 2, Wedge x 1. Squeeze x 1

Waiting to hear back from property if there will be a cabin available for our foursome by that point.

Played Karoo yesterday, and the wedge afterwards. Really really enjoyed both. There was a ton of construction going on, but the experience was still top notch. The entire property will have a very Pinehurst resort feel around 2025 with no reason to leave the property and two world class golf courses plus short courses, putting courses, skeet shooting and more. It does need another few months to grow in completely, but I don’t think that detracted from my experience at all. I will definitely be coming back with a group of buddies.

Thanks for the update. How was the Wedge? I saw they were charging $45 for that and it seemed a bit high.

We didn't pay, so didn't consider that honestly. It was fun but I am not a fan of mats for wedge shots. It's a cool routing and vibe though, and on golf trips I am sure I would play it at least once if not more.

I played Karoo.  The greens were terrible.  Sandy, super slow.  Just didn't seem ready to open with those greens.  I have seen better greens at the local muni.  

The course itself is ok.  I preferred the Pine Barrens layout but I am not sure keeping all the trees was realistic. Glad they kept #14 pretty close to the same but #15 was such a great drivable par 4 at World Woods and pushing the tees back to 380 ruins the hole. It's not drivable anymore and the hole is actually just pretty bad now.

It was a great driveable par 4 that’s been lengthened to make it undriveable with like 50 yards of fairway to bail out left. Maybe they won’t use the back box much and keep the tees up one box to retain its character.

Just because it's no longer a driveable par 4 doesn't mean it's a bad hole. I know the old hole well. What I was wondering is what you think makes the new hole a bad golf hole, rather than why you liked to old hole. It doesn't need to be driveable to be good.

Seems a little exaggerated calling the hole bad because you can’t have an eagle putt anymore.

No. I just don’t like the redesign adding that back box. Hopefully they don’t use it often and keep the tees up to retain the original character of the hole. The hole is bad in my opinion because you bail out to infinity way left and that’s the line now. You can even hit it into 14 as they share a fairway further down the hole.

You could move up a few tees and make it drivable?
