3wood for someone who can't hit one

If like myself and @Duffner's Waggleyou mainly use your three wood off of the tee then you can stop looking and go and pick up a Taylor Made 300 Mini in 13.5 of loft.  3 woods being 150-170cc are much less forgiving for off center strikes.  300 Mini is 307CC and much larger and more forgiving on off center strikes than a similarly lofted smaller three+ wood.

 

I have hit the 300 mini a couple of times on the course off of the deck, just to try it and it actually elevates pretty easily for it's size and loft.  I hit it every day off of the mats at my home course during my warmup.

I played today and we basically decided to play best ball because we were in 30-40 mph winds, but it was drying out some, and the mini was beastly today, going 270, 272, and 280 on 3 diff holes. 

 

Funny story....I played with a guy the other day who saw me smoking the 300 mini and we exchanged numbers bc he lives in my neighborhood, hope we can play together some, etc.. I wouldn't say he's a golf fanatic like me, but he's definitely into it and knows equipment a little bit, etc., anyway long story short, I had a disaster happen today where the shaft began to splinter at the hosel on my ZX Utility iron, so I ran it up to the local golf shop to see if my buddies could help me, and I'll be darned.... there is the guy I met on the course last week, checking out with a 300 Mini 11.5 LOL! I chuckled to myself and thought of this thread and knew you'd all get a kick out of it.

Ended up going with the Callaway Apex UW 17* with the GD VR-7x in it and finally got it this week and so far I am very impressed. Went to see it at PGTSS and loved the look and feel of it as a fairwaywood/hybrid combo and was really easy to launch and control. 

 

Dispersion was way tighter and avg carry was 255-260 which is perfect for what I need. Granted I am a little bit of a graphite design shaft fan boy but that GD VR feels GREAT. Considering trying it in my driver.

the M5 3 wood has a nice shallow face not too shallow and an overall smaller look to it, I love it. I hate the oversize 3 wood cant hit them. get the M5 and turn it down to a 4 wood it is a launcher. I know I'm late to the game
