Center Shaft Putters Scotty Cameron's

Any advantages of these over the regular placement putters? It makes sense that they might be more stable but they don't seem to be that popular.

I find that I aim center shafted putters better for some reason.

For me center shaft putters have helped tremendously.  There is a misunderstanding that they are only good for people that want to use as SBST a stroke as possible but that has not been the case for me.  I still use the same arc stroke, and the putters work great for whatever stroke you have.  You will need to try one to see if they are a good fit for you or not.  For me, I just aim better with them and that gives me confidence that helps me make a consistent stroke.

I have a Scotty 2.6 and a number of other CS putters.  Personally I would get a Seemore if I wanted to give one a try and wasn’t going to get fitted.  I find that CS putters need less loft than putters with offset.  The companies like Seemore and LAB that specialize in CS understand this and build them with lower lofts.  The Scotty’s and other companies usually just use their standard loft and that is not as effective for me, although it still works better than a plumbers neck for me.

Just got a center shafted Futura and for me it’s the alignment it creates. Visually appealing.

A lot of the time it's more for alignment, the stability part I've found a lot of center shafted putters twist a ton on miss hits unless it's something like a LAB putter with the crazy high MOI and balance.

I have had a few center shafted clubs and still have an old Cameron RedX2.  My stroke does better with a bit of toe down and am loving the M-Craft V I currently use.  

It's hard to beat the feel of a center shaft though, there is something there.

I’ve owned 2 center shaft Scotty’s and they both worked really well for me. I gamed a 2012 GoLo S5 for about 3 years and played a 1/2 year with a 2021 Phantom X6 STR.  Both lined up extremely well for me. I only transitioned out because I went to Squareback 2.  I needed a bit more toe hang.

Technically, CS putters should be more stable than heel shafted because there is less moment (force times distance) from the point of impact to the hosel. Also, with CS, you should be more closer/over the ball in your stance.

Not all the Scotty's are "center shafted".  The 2.6 is called a "straight shaft" and doesn't go into the head dead center.  That allows for the toe hang.

Center shafted putters just feel right to me.  When i get over the ball, it feels comfortable.  I can't explain it, but that comfort helps me hit more putts.
