Can you create a how too? Aside from the stock headcover this is exactly what I want

Ordered the .390 black shaft from seige custom putters. Took it apart myself, torched off the stock shaft, dropped it off to a local gun smith who does cerakote coating. Took about a week to get it back. Was able to source a new Scotty pistolini grip for it. Put it back together. Did the white paint fill and that’s it.

You can only get the ct grips if it’s a tour putter

I think that is typically the case but I was told by the custom shop when I called (a month ago or so) that I could get the FTUO paddle for 150.00 on any Cameron I sent to the shop.  You request the grip in the notes and they call for cc payment info. I am unaware if anyone actually did this. I was admittedly close. Sanity prevailed. For now.

Caveat - with the release of the retail version that may have changed. Same grip basically for $41.00

This is an interesting point, I will call the shop tomorrow and see what’s up.

Yeah… agree of course. I saw somewhere else on Wrx in the main post about the CT paddle that it was available in the physical store so I called. Interested to see what they say tomorrow. I will post back. If it was available in white I would probably already know definitively. 😏

Anyone know what the head-weights are?

I think depending on the weights inserted it is 350/360/370.

Love my 2022 Phantom 5, have done about half a dozen different designs on the SC site to customize it.  I'm planning to send it in over the winter for a new grip, new paint and a headcover that I plan to flip for enough to pay for the whole treatment 🙂

While I plan to own the putter for life (hah!) I am on the fence whether to get the certification to prove I didn't do paint fill myself so I have a question for the group.  If you were a buyer, how much would that certification be worth to you? More than the $95 they charge for it?  Thanks!

Got slammed and been just insanely hot here in Palm Desert, sorry my response was lagging 😝 - but I did two additional separate calls to the CS to get to what I feel is the correct info.

IF as the first guy stated the CT paddle grip was indeed available for $150 a month+ ago, it certainly is not available for a retail putter now that the civilian version is out. I know the rule is age old - but the first guy was like “you got the $$$ I got the grip” That it was available is also stated in a different thread.

This is academic at this point. Clearly stated by guys number 2 and 3, it is now a no go unless it’s for a CT putter. I DID GET some solid details on the paddles and did a confirmation call a few days later to make sure. (The second guy kept saying “matador” which made me question the specs.) Anyway…

Medium Scotty Paddle:

Length - 11”

Width - 1”

Circumference - 3.5”

Weight - 76g

Large Scotty Paddle:

Length - 11”

Width - 1.25”

Circumference - 3.75”

Weight - 75g

This is interesting as my 34” 5.5 Circle H with 20g weights is still just a hair light for what I like. If the large paddle is 10g lighter than my midsize matador I ordered it with, then that’s 2 swing weight points and might be right in the wheelhouse.

Every 5 grams of grip is basically 1 swing weight point, every two grams of head weight is 1 swing weight point. (From what I understand, putter length being the variable)

yah, you got a guy who had no idea what he was talking about the first time round.

Would have sucked if you sent it in just to have them call you when the putter got there to tell you no dice

cool that they gave you all the stats on the paddle grips though

Just picked up a 9.5. I rolled it in store against a 5.5 and 7.5, sold. I made a lot of putts and it's going to be going head to head with my Newport 2. I was also fitted into a mallet style and I preferred this look. Not something I would normally pick out but numbers were great and didn't lie. It's got the jet neck that allows for some flow and I'm looking forward to this dang rain moving through the area so I can take it out on course. My plan is to play the same 9 with the 9.5 and then again with the Newport 2. The 9.5 was so incredibly stable and I'm looking forward to it taking over the bag.

Snagged a X9 A couple weeks back. Love it so far. Difference maker for me has been the longer rear alignment line on the short putts. Much more consistent inside of 10’ now. Came from a Stroke Lab Double wide and I think it had too much toe hang for my stroke.

Circling back with some x5.5 (kinda) updates.

I have always liked the 5 head shape but never felt great about the original Futura X5 or the Phantom X5.5. I've had both the Futura X5 (tried it as a single bend, and had a flow neck welded on) and the slant neck X5.5. I'm just not a single bend guy, and for whatever reason I now prefer the look of a plumbers neck vs a slant or flow neck. My putting numbers agree with this preference. With this in mind, I ripped apart a brand new X5.5 and sent it off for a plumbers neck mod. I went slightly longer than standard with the neck, and it is nearly face balanced. The putter sets up so well and every putt so far has been rolling on line, end over end even on these bumpy end of season poa greens.

I realize I am in the minority here, but we need more plumbers neck mallets. That being said, through initial testing, I may have found a winner finally.

I agree, more plumbers neck mallets are required. They are becoming more common on Tour so I expect that to filter down to retail too.

Love that knuckle neck. Unfortunately, something tells me we will be stuck in the slant neck/single bend/double bend world forever with SC retail offerings. We might see an "Inspired by" or limited edition like the My Girl from a few years back, but I wouldn't hold my breath for a retail relese of the Phantom model with a plumbers neck or knuckle neck.

any long-term 5.5 reviews ?

Still using my 5.5 I got the day before release. Still loving it and putting better than I ever have. I switched from a Newport 2 mid-slant. I have also experimented with 10 gram, 15 gram, and 20 gram weights. For me, I find that the factory 15 gram weights on my 34 inch "cut down to 33 inch" works best for my distance control and tempo.

I don't have any plan of retiring this 5.5. It just really works for me. I may experiment with some of the neck options in the future, but really loving how the 5.5 has been performing. All my playing partners even said I was putting much better with the 5.5 vs my Newport 2 Mid-slant. 'Ive had some amazing putting days with my Newport tho... I won't ever get rid of the OG.

Similar story. 5.5 is my jam. I started with a 9 but honestly I did not like the sound/feel as much. Coming from a 2016 futura 5S (as well as a long history of center shaft Scotty’s) come to find out as mentioned I actually do not have an SBST stroke. The 5.5 with its little jet neck took away my left side miss.

the 20g weights in my 34” circle H are perfect for me. I ordered mine with a matador midsize as I just cannot get along with that stock grip shape, as much as I tried.
