I played Mid Pines and Pine Needles last November. PN was definitely the harder of the two. Those greens repel approaches, and the up and downs are wicked. Not quite as crazy as Pinehurst #2, but close.

I'm working for NBC all 4 days as a spotter. I am somewhat familiar with a hole or two on Pine Needles as my ex-in-laws used to live on it. Better start studying.............

This is from an amateur tour.  But, they are on the LPGA and PGA Tour as well.  I spotted a few of them on tv last week at Southern Hills.  Thing is with most PGA Tour events, there are so many spectators that ball spotters or fairway spotters are not necessarily needed.  

 

But you are working for NBC, so perhaps its a different task??  Help the camera crew/announcers know where the ball is?

Sadly, I don't think history is going to be kind to Michelle. A wonderful young talent that was derailed by nagging injuries, over-involved parents, and an awful swing coach that completely ruined a fluid, athletic swing. Thankfully Lydia extracted herself from his clutches, and will now likely spend the rest of her career as a top ranked player.

I don't know that she ever would have putted well enough to be a consistent winner but yes, the story of Michelle Wie will be people wondering what might have been.

JLPGA has been encouraging their players to play LPGA majors by awarding order of merit points.  As a result, there will be eight JLPGA players contending this week. 

 

JLPGA's top player, Mao Saigo, is in the field.  She's won five times and placed second twice in ten JLPGA tournaments this year.

Yeah it seems like a 2nd shot course though.  You wanna put it on the proper spots on the greens.  The contours from the videos, you don't wanna be near the edges of the  greens or your ball won't stay there lol

I’d planned on attending the 2022 Women’s US Open as was supposed to be my “I’m Back” moment after having been in a horrific accident 11 months ago, leaving me a paraplegic. Thus my absence from the forum as I’ve focused more on regaining some semblance of life. Anyway, I’d planned on departing Saturday but, after dodging Covid for a couple years, tested positive Thursday morning. I know, I have all the luck😉
 

Enough of the sad stuff. I’m excited to watch the tourney at Pine Needles! I was fortunate to attend the US Open when Annika won in 1996 at Pine Needles. And, later that year played a round there and met Peggy Kirk Bell, post round. I was also at the 1999 final round, at Pinehurst #2, when Payne Stewart won! So many great memories in the area!
