The raw is the replacement and it just came out. Nothing in 2023.

Agreed. The W grind in the raw is NOTHING like the W in the MD5. I’m having issues finding the 5’s I like for replacements

I didn't think I'd care for a raw finish either but I needed new wedges as my MD5's were pretty long in the tooth.  Jaws Raw are just money and frankly they don't rust a bit as long as you don't leave them wet or anything.  I clean my clubs after every round and all three wedges get water and a brush.  I just dry them off with the towel, put them in the bag, and they still look no different than they did from when I peeled the wrappers off them over 2 months ago.  My point is they are totally different than what I was expecting and in a good way.

Does the entire wedge rust on the Raw wedges?  I thought I saw a photo of only the groove area and toe area rusting?

It would only be the face; the back is plated/finished.

  Yes, I knew the back does not rust. just curious if the hozel rusts also to give a uniform rusted look at address?

No, just the face rusts. The contrast is much less jarring on the black finished wedges.

Thanks for the info.  I was just making sure.  I do not like the contrast at all.

Admittedly I'm not a fan of it either. Adds a big element of "gimickiness" (if that's a word) to an otherwise stellar product.

I agree.  I have have been a TM guy for a long time.  The TCB's have shocked me over the P7MC/MB, now settled into Rogue ST also.  Callaway just performs for me.  Just have the groove area and toe be "raw" on the wedges does seem like a "lets make them rust a little for marketing".  A full raw head is I am sure what staffers are playing.

Concur, but I'm admittedly not the most objective. The Rogue LS 3 wood is the best I've gotten along with a 3 wood in ages, so good in fact that I'm reconsidering my plan to play Apex UW (can we pause and recognize how fun and effective that club is?) in 16* and 20* next year as the bridge between driver and irons in 2023. Even the ball is on equal footing with any competitor (yes, even THAT brand).

 

The ST drivers are the best on-course performers Callaway has had in the Jailbreak tech era by a considerable margin.

OK, but only one is going to present itself as the best option for a player when they go through a competent fitting. Get fit, play what works best for you (Callaway or not), and off you go. Nothing about having more available options prevents any of that.

It won't look like that unless you want it to look like that.  As I mentioned earlier, as long as you don't put them away wet then will never even rust.

I have been playing my jaws raws for a little over a month and there is no rust on them at all.  It try to build it, and I dont try to stop it. But there is nothing.

I have been playing the Full Toe wedges for a while, also no rust.  I was looking forward to the rust for 2 reasons:

1. People think I can play 😀
2. When I buy new wedges in a few months I can show my wife my old rusty ones.

I said the same thing. I went with the black and don’t see the rust on them. They are super nice. Look and feel great. Try the black and you won’t regret it

Full toe Raw or Black(won't rust)

 

or Jaws Raw, Raw or Black(Won't Rust).

 

IMO Jaws Raw is the best wedge Callaway has ever made. The W grind is amazing for full swing, and for most people. The Z grind is nearly perfect for what I want in a Lob Wedge.

 

So.....no. No new wedge for 2023 to my knowledge. If you don't get along with any of the current offerings you'll want to look at another brand.

Echoing that my Jaws Raw (50/54 and then full face raw in 58) havent rusted at all. I’ve been playing the full face for like 6 months and got the others when they came out. Bite has just started to come off the full face(probably 50 rounds plus range time) but the 50 and 54 absolutely RIP. Love the straight leading edge

just got a 52 MD5 off of CPO, as someone who likes to keep his clubs looking tip top im not keen on rusty golf clubs, and with the PM grind going the way of the dodo bird im quite nervous for Cally wedges this release, hoping its a one cycle thing.
