Callaway X-Forged CB

Looks like the X forged cb are out of the callaway website, is it old news or sign of replacement soon?

I've always loved this line... I could be wrong but I think they may be due for a refresh.

About time they’re due for a refresh. They’re gorgeous irons and they feel great off the face. In a few more seasons when I’m ready for some new irons, these will be high up on my list.

I think they felt awful compared to what else is out there. I am a callaway guy so that says something

That’s really interesting. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I’m also a big callaway guy, but the XFCB is really the only non-tech infused callaway iron I’ve hit. 
 

for the record, I’ll admit the mizuno pro 225 I was fit into (and the 223 for that matter) felt much much better.

I tried TCB as well. I was completely turned off by both. I wish that wasn’t the case but it was

If you were turned off by the feel of the TCB, then you really ought to stick with your T200 2019 my man.

I barely hit the middle and they weren't bad feeling at all. Now my performance with them is different and that's why they're at a new home.

Funny how perception is so individualistic.  I think the x forged line feels as good as anything, including Srixon.  Incredibly soft yet powerful.  Double dots, tcb and x forged all feel incredible to me.

Yeah, there isn’t much better feeling irons than the tcbs.

Tried the TCB, 225, Xforged, MBs(Titleist, Mizzy, Srixon, TM, to name a few), I believe its all in the shaft.  That is from my experience.

Agreed. I think they feel great, will be curious if they update the line or go to something totally different. I've heard Fall of 23 we are supposed to see a new Apex line.

Since feel is 99.0% sound and we all hear and prefer different things, it makes sense.

Have always liked the shape of the x-forged compared to the apex. Looking forward to the next iteration.

I have absolutely loved a lot of the past X Forged irons.  The 2013 may be the best irons Callaway has ever made.  But, I have to wonder.  With the Apex TCB basically being a refined XFCB, does the X Forged really have a place in the lineup anymore?  I know the most recent version was ok.  But, it had A LOT of offset.  I feel like the TCB were what the XFCB should have been from the start.  

 

So, I have just been wondering if they end up bringing all of their flagship irons under the Apex moniker.

This makes the absolute most sense, which means it will never happen. 
 

I personally don’t mind offset and could probably play the slightly larger XFCB but don’t know if I could play the TCB as easily.

I love my set of 21 x forged but they are kind of in a weird spot from a marketing standpoint and so they really went under the radar. Wouldn’t be surprised if they got scrapped.

Agree. Had both 21’s Apex offering and the 21 X Forged were more forgiving and better feel.

The 18’s were kind really nice. If they stick around I kind of hope they just go back to a one piece forging. An old school, classic, soft players CB. Leave the tech to the Apex line.

Agree 100%.  The ‘13’s were my favorite but the ‘18 is in the same conversation to me.  Absolutely loved everything about them.  The new ones seem to have lower spin.  The ‘18 spun at a perfect rate.  Wish they would have just kept it in that same design.

18 XF were nice looking irons from 3 through 7 iron, then 8 to PW they looked quite odd and miss-shaped, i never gamed them so cant say about how they played, but from an aesthetic point the scoring irons looked kinda strange.

even the UT from that year is great looking, better than the clunky looking 21 imo.

Shot my lowest round with xforged18/mb combo. 79. Could have been a few strokes lower if it wasnt for a few erratic shots on last 3 holes 😢. My short game saved me so bad lol they are very good irons. Something similar would be cool but then id want it 😔 i was gifted a second set recently thats in like new condition after i sold my origional set which was dumb.  Glad i got a second chance with them.
