Black T100/T200 Spotted

I have not tried the sm9’s yet but every jet black wedge from previous versions that I have had or seen others with have held up very well. So I’m hoping the same for these. All I’m saying is in the past the black finish of the previous t100/t200 and ap2/ap3 was not the same as they were using for the wedges and was far less durable.

I was able to order a set of t100s and the 50* sm9 from DD at first they said no custom specs but got lucky and they had a few that they could because I need 6.5 with longer shafts and upright lies. 
I would suggest anyone reach out to them. The savings and lack of CA sales tax made it worth waiting over a set of the normal chrome. I’m hoping titleist builds them right away and ship for the 3/3 release

The only company to do black correctly was Cobra.  The Cobra Forged MB/CB set from a few years black was indestructible.  And when they did wear, they wore appropriately.  

 

The worst finish is when Callaway does black....Titliest has been similarly bad when they try to blacken their previous chrome T100's and AP2's.  

 

We will see.

Are the irons the same new finish as SM9 limited release today? If they are sounds like they may hold up better. I put off order Titleist stuff now for a month to order the black heads and the price just says no if the finish doesn’t hold up.

I ordered a set. I had the originals. Hopefully this new black finish holds up a little bit better.

Bought a t200 black 4 iron to replace a u500 4 iron that I recently benched for a g410 hybrid. But this one is black and will look really neat in my bag. 🤦‍♂️🤞

You can specify shaft. You select the manufacturer and then there is a drop down. Black $ taper just isn't an option. AMT Black Onyx, AMT White Onyx, Project X LZ Onyx, and one other are available in black.

As tempted as I am, I can't justify the price, also knowing that the 2023 models will come out around Q2/Q3 timeframe. But damn those are nice... jealous!

I am taking the risk that the new releases this year will be comparable to say the ZX7 MKii. If you already have the ZX7 it’s probably not a big change. 🤪

Lol true that man. The current T100/100S model is so money. Idk how they'd improve it. I just wish the T200 line wasn't as "bulky" and was more comparable to a P770/P790.

I currently play the ZX7 irons, but the T100s is likely going to be my next set.  I have been experimenting with a T100s 4 iron and like it.  I really like the thinner top line and the tungsten in the head does help when you don't hit it square in the middle.

Glad I ordered mine when I did, almost waited til after the weekend. I went 4-PW T100S with PX LZ Blackout shafts then couldn't resist myself so added TSR3 driver, 13.5 and 18 with AD-DI
