And what the hell has Blair O'Neal got to do with the LPGA? Why do we have to watch interviews with her except for the fact that this is just a shameless media fest "using" the LPGA to get coverage and make money?

I hear you. The ToC is a double edged sword. It's nice to get the new season underway, but with a limited field, and twice as many celebrities as pros, it can be painful at times. At least the celebs aren't awful, and Annika is in the final group today. 

 

No surprise we're getting an extra helping of Brooke today. She's playing lights out.

I'm actually enjoying Charley time lol.  We don't see her as much as would like, one of my faves to watch play.

Not much to say, Brooke is dialed in.  The field better hope she doesn't stay dialed in for the weekend or it's over.

Seven out her eight wins, Nelly either led or co-led entering the final round.  Her only come from behind victory was her last when she trailed Lexi Thompson by one shot.

 

Three of the Top-10 players are 1, 2 and T5 after 2 rounds; the small field certainly helped.

I think sometimes you're a victim of circumstance, the top of the food chain players when they are on are gonna win unless another top fish is on to match them.  Like Minjee at the US Open, there was the score the course was giving to the field and then there was score Minjee was putting up.  Same with Ingee and Brooke both were playing a different course for 3 days and then had some hiccups on Sunday, both dug deep and closed it out.  Still 2 rounds left and hitting 16 greens today but only hitting 12 tomorrow changes everything, but Brooke has change it to a 6 player tournament in IMO.

Yes, Brooke shot 66 but she didn't make putts in the back nine.  She could have shot 64 or better.

Much the same for me here In New Zealand and probably most outside the USA. Except a couple of names I have seen here before and Annika all the celebs are unknown to me.

Ariya has some serious rust to work through before her next outing!  She’s not hitting drives any distance, and she’s not hitting fairways or greens.  Good thing her putting isn’t as far off as Jennifer Kupcho’s!

Too bad Lydia couldn't play this year; otherwise her presence alone would keep you on the edge of your seat!

 

I watched with my iPhone, so 98% of the time I's browsing on the web and 2% of the time watching Brooke and Nelly.  I don't know those 2nd and 3rd tier celebs and I don't want to know.

I'm pretty sure there are quite a few of us here in the USA as well who have no idea who many of the celebs are.

Been watching Maja Stark's stats since she's been on the LPGA, I think she gonna be pretty good on tour and I think she picks up another win this season.  She hits GIR at a pretty high rate, which generally leads to success on tour.  She does struggle with some putts and needs to clean that up IMO, but she does look like she has all the tools.

Brooke seems to like her new putter. 27 and 28 putts per round is over 2 strokes better than her average last season.

Charley looked like she was going to beat someone with a 9 iron on the 17th teebox. She seemed a little out of whack out there with the inability to pull the trigger on the final couple of holes. How many times does one need to look at the flag when one hasn't altered their alignment? Lol.

She was standing over her shots so much longer than I'm used to, I actually thought it might be something she worked on?  She like Nelly takes no time pulling the trigger normally, maybe she wants to slow down a touch by design for some reason.

She somehow looks 'better' with the new putter, seems to 'suit' her.

 

Of course, proof of the pudding is as you have stated with less putts.

 

Brooke has been so impressive so far and so early in the season but it's maybe a portent for 2023.....

and her driver, keeping this relative and understanding conditions that affect hitting drives in Florida this time of year, everyone is only maxing out in the 260's.  While it is a limited field and only 2 rounds she's 2nd in driving this week, only behind Yuka Saso by 3 yards and basically tied with Nelly.
