Everything about this tournament is about money, privelege and media influence. Everything here has been bought and paid for. I don't see any honesty anywhere, as you should in a true sporting competition. They always say that power corrupts, and it's been finding its way into golf more and more recently.

Congrats to Brittany and her sister golfer Brooke! Glad to see Brooke and Nelly figured out how to use those new clubs. Must have been a terrifying transition.

 

Nice to see Maja pick up where she left off last season as well.

What can you say about a wire to wire win? Just 3 bogies for the week. Impressive stuff. New clubs certainly appear to be a non issue. Putter was above average. Brooke missed a few birdie putts, but nothing really looked shaky. Could be a big season. 

 

Definitely surprised by Nelly today. Didn't think she'd run down Brooke, but wasn't expecting an even par round. 

 

Ditto Nasa. 

 

Very nice week by Charley and Maja, but simply too many bogies.

I was hoping to see a little drama today, but Mother Nature seemed to throw a bit of a monkey wrench into things. Definitely like the course. It's nice to see a tougher course on the schedule.

With your earlier comment doubting Nelly would notch a top 10, I'd say you greatly underestimate how talented these ladies are. It's not like a 25 capper switching from Super Game Improvement irons to a set of Miura baby blades..geez have some faith in these gals.

I will say Nelly is a slight disadvantage with also playing a brand-new ball, Brooke switched last season (which makes me think she decide to leave Ping last season).  Brooke played well finished second here last season and had a slew of top 10's to start the season.  For about 3 months she seemed uncomfortable about exactly what the ball would do.  Again, these girls are pro's so they figure it out, but I do believe a ball change adds a little more difficulty to the process,

Very intelligent and mature win by Brooke.  While she did nothing special, it's kinda what made it special lol.  I'm sure though Brooke won't be saying tomight "this month off comes at the perfect time" lol.  She looks good and if she's play like this all year, it could be a big one.

 

Nelly was sloppy at times today and it cost her.  Nasa missed those 2 early chances on the back 9, and she never really challenged again.    Maja probably made a rookie mistake and pressed too hard too early and Charley had a nice tournament, but she needs to start adding wins to her resume, but nice T2 by both.
