Is Charley paired with Lizette...hmm, that isn't gonna be good.

Lizette starts on 10, if memory serves me, they usually only pair LPGA players for the final round and usually only the top 4 will be 2 pairs and all other players usually get paired with 2 celebs again.

Cheers - I got that wrong, didn't note the asterisk vs tee time*

Lucky for Charley (re pace of play).

Parading Paris Hilton around like it's 2005.

I would normally agree with the sentiment -- but, it is an event sponsored by Hilton and try as anyone may, there is no way that Conrad will be showing up, so Paris is the family figurehead standing in.  😆

FYI -- Conrad died in 1979.  🙂

Brooke suffered from a wonky putter today, always a concern with her, but nice to see she gutted out a 69.  I think it's a 3 player race, I doubt the -9 will factor in.

Nelly had a very solid back 9, she found something with the putter today.  Nasa may not putt like Inbee, but some rounds she does lol that was a nice round to get her back into it.  It should be a good fight tomorrow.

She is ranked 72nd in putting.

When she makes a mistake it's usually a really big mistake.

It's usually nowe several mistakes per round, one can be ignored, but multiple 6's and 7's on your scorecard is rough. Patty needs a mental break more than anything, if I were her i'd just rest until the Chevron.

Great job Marty now we're gonna have to deal with this on WRX again lol

@Stooch
Does Mardy Fish have a chance against Ariya Jutanugarn/ other LPGA pros near the bottom of this leaderboard?

(i.e. specifically how Ariya is playing this week at the TOC?)

I'm not sure what his score was today but yesterday he was actually under par, so lol

Thanks @Stooch

To save others a google-search, if similarly curious:

https://www.lpga.com/tournaments/hilton-grand-vacations-tournament-of-champions/celeb-leaderboard

Does anyone have a Link to an apples-to-apples comparison/combined leaderboard somewhere?

(i.e. i see the celebs leaderboard = using either a stableford/modified stableford scoring format?)

I didn't get to see much of Rounds 1 & 2, but today, I noticed that they were playing the same tee boxes as the LPGA players.   For what its worth, during the broadcast they mentioned that Fish's handicap index at Riviera was +1.3 or something to that effect.  I didn't go back to search the broadcast, but I do believe it was Riviera -- or another well known course in the LA area.  And the +1.3 is not the same as a handicap of 1.3, meaning he does not get any strokes relative to par.

I'm totally sick of watching Mardy Fish playing golf, and just about as sick of watching Annika, since these were the 2 golfers all the coverage was relentlessly focussing on for 3 days, while we saw absolutely nothing of the rest of the LPGA field.

Plus we had to put up with inane comments from the team like "it's such a privelege for these female golfers to share rounds with proven winners - they can learn so much".........

Everything about this tournament is about money, privelege and media influence. Everything here has been bought and paid for. I don't see any honesty anywhere, as you should in a true sporting competition. They always say that power corrupts, and it's been finding its way into golf more and more recently.

While I do not care in the slightest about the "celebrity" portion of this event (nor do I know anyone, either in real life or online, who does), it doesn't bother me that much.  It's one event, it's January, it's still golf.  It's the LPGA version of the old "Silly Season" that used to follow the PGA Tour season before it became a year-round parade of tournaments.

Coverage of the LPGA players has been Brooke, Nelly, Charley, a little Nasa and not much else.  Then again with a field of only 29 pros, I'm not real surprised that GC has only a few cameras out there.

Today we should see the last two groups and that's pretty much it.  Oh, sure, they'll show the "battle" between Fish and Roenick and any other "celeb" making a run.  But at least we should see the leaders going head to head.

Been watching Maja Stark's stats since she's been on the LPGA, I think she gonna be pretty good on tour and I think she picks up another win this season.  She hits GIR at a pretty high rate, which generally leads to success on tour.  She does struggle with some putts and needs to clean that up IMO, but she does look like she has all the tools.

Agreed, I'm curious to see how much time she'll spend on the LET.
