Just took my car in for service and saw this big cruiser. New 760i. Initial impression, got a bit of a Rollls Royce vibe goin on.

A change of clothes and I go from work to practice. With the forecast for temps in the upper 80's starting the middle of next week I thought I should enjoy the wonderful weather we are having today and hit a bucket and practice my short game. 

75* with 50% humidity and a breeze. 

It will be good to work on my swing as I have a couple of good matches coming up next week.

I was browsing around at all the new irons and something hit me. I saw nothing that just jumps out at me and makes me want to buy them. At least not from the big oem's. I think I need to go back 5-10 years and pick up something with some class without all the plastic chrome. I want a lefty set of Ping S55's or 56's but people think they're gold.

I’m sorta the same way.  I love the look of my Honmas, and probably replace shafts before getting something else.  I do like the Wilson D9 forged, and if I found a set 5-w heads I would probably jump on them.

 

I honestly believe reshafting is in the near future, I think I need to increase club and ball speed and height.  This is based on my first use of a PLM, but still need more time to make that call.  Plus it was cold and into the wind.

I took the Cayman in yesterday to get an aftermarket head unit (and backup camera) installed. When I was looking for this ride - and why I jumped on this one so quickly - I wanted something pretty bare bones. The more of "modern" cars I see that're loaded with some much computr0n, automation, touchscreens ... I'm just like "meh." So the one I found is perfect - pretty much nothing automatic in it at all. Super analog!

 

BUT. Gotta have my tunes. And the OG PCM3 just wasn't getting it done. And I actually do quite like Carplay. Porsche has been gradually rolling out OEM replacement PCMs that totally modernize that whole thing (PCCM+!) for older models going so far back as like 964's and such. Up to ... the 987.1.

 

I've got a 987.2 😂

 

So just had a lil basic Sony that supports wireless Carplay dropped in. When they get around to a PCCM+ for mine ... I'll be replacing that guy as it simply DOES look better in the interior. But this gets the music and navigation done for now.

 

Also thought I'd be able to live without a backup camera (the Cayenne had one, of course) but considering half this town is driving some monstrous brodozer; trying to back out of parking spots is a massive pain in the a** in a little 2 seater. Dudes I took it to are the real deal and instead of using one of the crappy looking cameras that get clipped to the license plate frame, they did a straight up install in the bumper that looks totally factory. It's awesome.

I had a set of the D9 forged and wanted to love them but I didn't.

I found two sets on ebay but they both have 6.0 Rifle shafts in them. I could re-shaft them but then I have too much money in them.

Totally do this. Might I suggest the $-Taper Lites? 😂 Man, they feel so good and I can get a killer, piercing high trajectory with them when I want to.

 

I've hit some of the best 5 irons of my life with these things.
