... I almost forgot this guy from yesterday til I looked at my pictures. I evidently made the mistake of passing him in the right lane while he was in the left lane, so he floored it, got in front of me and blocked me from turning right, just sitting there through a green stoplight, I guess he didn't care about the 2 cars behind me honking their horns. After the 2nd green light, he waited til it was almost red and then floored it and went straight. I am guessing he thinks he really pi$$ed me off but all I could do was chuckle to myself.

You should have hopped out of your Genesis and politely asked him, "Why in the hell were you driving so fu*king slow in the left lane, a**hole?!"  Is Arizona an open carry state?

IMHO the hottest and most humid place in the world is in the NC Sandhills around Pinehurst and Hoffman. No air moving through those Carolina Pines.

Think the worst humidity I've ever experienced was being in Millennium Park in Chicago in August. RIGHT on the lake!

Keith Hills CC in Buies Creek, NC is where my game really developed back in the day. My dad built the pro's house so we were unofficial members. I could roll up any time, pop into the pro shop to check in with Mr. Hockaday and he'd either send me out when there was a gap or set me up with all the range balls I wanted.

I THINK this is #9 ...

... Other than the hood on the southside of Chicago, many more shootings here in AZ. And it is most defiantly open carry and the Wild West with a ton of angry far right 2nd amendment zealots itching to "pull leather" as I have read on Next door quite a few times. Seems to be the answer to most every problem ... people ringing the doorbell at night (shoot em) checking to see if a moron left their car unlocked (shoot em)  traffic situations (shoot them multiple times) and of course kids throwing rocks which would be "the last rock they ever throw in my neighborhood"   🙄

Well I went out today and played my first actual round of golf in more than 12 years.  I wasn’t expecting much, but I think I played worse than I anticipated.  What I was doing and felt on the range didn’t translate at all.  Golf is tough when you struggle mightily off the tee and spend way to much time in the rough.  I am disappointed but at least I’m not overly frustrated yet.

I did play with this young lady who will be a senior in HS in the fall, she was a very good player and even a better young lady.

Good attitude.  Get back on that horse!

I prepare for it. In fact last night I bought a larger cooler. We are allowed coolers at our course and they encourage it since there is no water and no beverage cart. Our course does give free plastic bags and ice for the out of towners. What most of us do is fasten the cooler on the cart fender with bandolier clips clipped to the basket. I freeze at least 2 bottles of water at night the rest are chilled. My new cooler holds 8 standing up and has a shelf I can out my Ice packs and cold wash cloths in. I also in this heat carry at least 2 bottles of Pedialyte mix. Today here the ambient temp is 90* but with the humidity and heat index it is around 101 or so.

I play some in the Johnson City/Elizabethton, TN area this time of year, if I can get an early tee time. It gets into the low to mid 80's by the time we're done and I will down two to three bottles of water, two large bottles of Pedialyte, and never need to hit the John. Without the Pedialyte I get seriously dehydrated and have leg cramps all night.

I grew up in the Piedmont of NC; tiny little town about halfway between Raleigh and Fayetteville. Every summer from after 7th grade till after graduating high school, I worked on my dad's construction crew in those sweltering, humid summers. Hot's nothing new to me. (Though a NC autumn is magical) I've always hated being cold.

The first time I ever came to Vegas was in ... April of 2002 for some friends' wedding. I'd never been further west than Colorado (ski trip with the family when I was about 17 or 18) and simply had no idea about this whole "desert weather" thing. Me and my homey that flew in together arrived at night and I don't remember thinking much of the weather - of course, I now know May is a pretty lovely time of year. Next day, went outside and was like "Wow ... it's like ... almost 100 degrees but it's oddly comfortable. I'd be dying in this back home."

Spent a week in town and just fell in love with the weather. Didn't know about the whole "115° in a few months thing." There's a longer story about the how but me and that same homey decided to move here and we arrived in June of that year.

First full summer was pretty brutal but I eventually just got used to it. And developed an extreme hatred of humidity!

I agree the humidity is a killer. 80* here with high humidity makes whine like a little girl that lost her puppy. I moved here from SW Florida so I'm familiar with high heat with humidity. It's why I left.

Used to haul out of a place in Arizona named Sacaton in the desert. That was the proving grounds for International/Case equipment. Depending on the load whether it was over dimensional or not we got there late in the day or early at night. Our truck was self sufficient with a generator etc. We would basically camp there and I would have the neck detached on the trailer and the chains off when the guys got there at 5AM. We would do a quick load and tie down before the sun came up and it got hot. Those guys out there were very efficient

Columbia, SC can give them a run for their money. Spent a week there one Summer day.

I caddied for a co-worker there for his PAT. 36 holes in late June and we couldn't be in the cart at the same time. He had a bumb knee and couldn't walk and play 36 in a day. One of the longest days of my life. Of course, by the end of the first 18 it was clear he wasn't going to come anywhere near "the number". We finished the second round so he wouldn't have to wait a year to enter another.

Was only 82* here.  But with 75% humidity.  After nearly two weeks, was a slog getting the yard mowed today.  Had to take several breaks in the action.  Guzzling copious amounts of water.  Going to be pushing 90 the next couple of days, so today was the day.  At Fifty Twenty Two now, this stuff isn't as fun as it once was.  A heat thing.

No problem blowing snow when it's 20* though.  Can dress for success in those climatic conditions

I need a house up north and one down south. That would fix everything.

It's changed a lot since my days out there. Used to just be 18 - #1 tee was right there behind the putting green then you'd have to go out a bit towards the entrance to get to #10 tee. Think they added another 9 and mix 'em up or something.

Spent many, many mornings/afternoons/evenings at that range and walking that course.

I played Oakmont and it was 82 degrees.  No idea the humidity, but it was brutal.  I could barely keep my pants up and my shirt was soaked.  My buddies were like are you OK?  I grew up in that and don’t remember just getting my butt kicked like that… and on the course as well.  Think I fired a smooth 95.

Yep, once we took guardianship of our son and we worked on getting him adjusted, he started playing sports and that left little time to play.  Now that he is older and can drive I don’t have to take him everywhere.
