Just got back from a 90 minute practice session.  Went back to ground zero and every shot was no more than shaft parallel.  Didn’t give 2 shakes where the ball went, just wanted to try making solid contact.  For the most part you could have thrown a blanket over where most landed.

 

Next session will be a brief recap of this and then taking it to left arm parallel.

... Great stuff Fish! Ironically I think that is the "secret" to playing well on the course and especially under pressure. Pick your target, hone in on your yardage, then forget it and take a free wheeling swing as if you don't care where the ball is going. You have already given your subconscious all the information it needs. 👍 Nothing wrecks a swing/shot more than steering the ball away from trouble or at your target. Probably even more true with putting.

Much more mature than I am.  This winter I was suffering from tennis elbow and working pretty hard on changing the club path to the ball.  So the 9 to 3 swings resulting in hooks, slices, fats, thins, and more than a few hoselrockets were incredibly frustrating and sent me right back to the old way before catching myself doing it.  I think I have it now... until I don't, even on the full swings.

Oh don’t get me wrong I know crappy shots and hosel rockets in there, but I tried not to care, which is really hard to do.

21yo LSU junior golfer Aine Donegan is playing in her first US Open and currently leading! She had a ruff start to the week when United lost her clubs and then when they finally got to her the driver shaft was snapped in two! 😩

... Wow, that really sucks. Most of us have adjustable hosels so easy enough to remove the head and put it in the bag inside the head cover when traveling. And I always use a Club Glove Stiff Arm just in case. But good for her overcoming adversity, at least for her first round.

I've got the SKB hard case. Having used SKB stuff for my drums for many years, I can confirm those things are damn near indestructible.

... I ordered some OOFOS slides to wear around the house. Insanely comfortable. But they are too small and almost an inch shorter than my other slides of the same size. Mainly the strap is pretty tight and my heel just sneaks off the back. I tried to get used to them but they are just too small. After a little over a month I looked on the website to see about exchanging them and was surprised to see I only had 30 days to exchange them. It was a little over 5 weeks. Never hurts to try Customer Service and I was a little shocked to get the reply below. This is the kind of customer service that is rewarded for life.

Balance is over rated. These guys know chicks dig the long ball. May only make contact one out of a hundred, but when they do!!!

Yep. I got it for my Scotland trip. Super secure and fit everything without having to take anything apart.

 

I DID add some padding around the heads with some towels but otherwise just stuffed the bag on in there. (Vessel Pro stand bag for reference)

I have read all that has been said by the group about Michelle falling short of her top billing as the next great one during her career, but let me tell you, regardless of her # of wins I have been a fan of Michelle Wie since the beginning. I really enjoyed watching her play. I find her personality charming. I find her free of any vanity or showboatness. She is very cute and has major style. I can only imagine how hard it is for some of these young standout golfers to produce on the biggest stage when everyone expects them to dominate the field each week. How many young girls admired Michelle in her prime? I'd say a few million, and some of them I am sure got into golf because of Wiesy. I will enjoy watching her compete one last time this week at Pebble. 

The lady has always been classy. 💃

Mr. West is a fortunate fellow.
