LOL got into a controversy a few years back with that thing. They had a golf promotional show a few years back. I was asked if I could do a classic display? Yes I can. I had the cart with a Green and White Macgregor Staff bag with a pristine set of 1962 FC 4000s and a pristine set of MT-1 woods. The cart has the Scorecard holder that holds the card and pencil 5 tees and 3 balls along with a pack of smokes and a lighter. The last caused all the trouble. I had went to great detail on the display and even had a vintage score card I had found from a course down here. I had an empty weighted down pack of Hard Box Camels on the display along with one of my old mans Zippo lighters. This anti smoking Karen started about the Camels. I got into it with her and her husband. She called some kind of official and he was perplexed. He asked me for the sake of peace to remove the cigs. I told him the cigs were fake and the lighter did not work. I finally told the people I would remove it. I did wheeled the whole shebang out the door. Yep I do not need that kind of BS. I did get my promised check in the mail along with a letter of apology from the people in charge. I was asked the next year to do another display and I declined. They did call me and I told them I did not need that kind of crap from the A-Holing public

And you skin will thank you. @chisag and I had discussions way back on it. A friend of mine got skin cancers and started wearing one. After seeing what he went through I adopted the style and it fits in well with my persona. Supposedly and I say supposedly I am not as subject to skin cancer from exposure as some because of my dark skin and Native American heritage. But I am not lacking in sense and did not take the risk.

Great song ! but if you want to really hear some good sax go back to the old Motown stuff. The Funk Brothers played back up to 99% of the Motown hits back in the 60s and early 70s. Going a little further back there is some great Sax playing on the Coasters hit Charlie Brown--- Yeah I know I am old

... Sadly their best work never was on the radio. And their hits were pedestrian. But they were such awesome musicians that took their time and was never in a hurry to get to the end. I have a greatest hits compilation and none of the songs on the radio made the cut.  I think these guys just might be the most under rated and misunderstood group ever. Sax and all. And lyrics?

... This one really takes it's time and at 1:50 the way the Oboe slides into the Harmonica that slides into the Violin is blended so perfectly with one note indistinguishable from the next it is easily missed if not listening critically. But also an excellent background tune.

Ya, also, interestingly, my father never wore gloves. 
 

It could be like -5 and he shovel snow ❄️ and ice. No gloves. Or even to do all kinds of heavy work outdoors. I musta bought him 97 pairs of some of the best gloves over the years, wouldn’t wear them lol

 

In fact, now I’m remembering when I was like 4 or 5 we went on a sled 🛷 together, he was in front steering and the top layer of snow had melted then frozen into ice.
 

Of course he wasn’t wearing gloves. We got to the bottom and the ice had cut through the skin on like all his knuckles! 😱

Good saxophone?  Not including the entirety of quality sax artists in the jazz genre?  Impossible.  WTS, thought this was a quality tune featuring Michael Brecker playing the sax portion.  The theme song from Local Hero.  An absolute gem of a "small" motion picture.  Easily in my Top 10 movies of all time.

Junior Walker plays sax on this hit that most of you will recognize. Foreigner was recording in NYC and trying to get a Walker-esque sound and discovered that he was performing that night just a few blocks from their studio. They got in touch, and he accepted their offer to play.

 

 

Another great sax player, David Sanborn.

How often do you get up north?

We had a cottage on Torch Lake when I was growing up. Northern Michigan is one of my favorite summer places. Traverse City all the way on up to Petoskey is GOD's country from June thru September.

The Beaver Island Ferry heading out through the Pine River Channel (aka Island Lake Outlet) from Round  Lake.  With the draw bridge up, undoubtedly the usual and unavoidable summer traffic backups through Charlevoix.  

 

Technically, Boyne Thunder isn't a boat race.  It's a poker run.  For go-fast, offshore boats that motor to designated locations to pickup a playing card.  Best hand "wins".  Unknowingly happened onto the run some years back when they were pulling into Elk Rapids.  Kinda interesting if one is into these types of boats.  They were LOUD.
