... So yea, the impression I get when someone has mudered out wheels with a flat brimmed hat is anything but "stylish". 

Yep I ran primer down stuff for years both hot rods and Harleys. Most of the time was because I did not know what color I wanted to paint it. With many of my projects I would lose interest or see something else I wanted and would either trade or sell. One sell or trade point was it was primer so you can paint it any color you want. Honestly I grew to like the look. On the dirt cars I never had a great paint job except on one. SOP back in those days was to go to the Dollar General and get 2 cases of black spray paint and paint away. I built a Toyota one time that was pristine with body lines and door gaps filled in etc. I took it to a winter pre season show and won best looking in my division. First race out I backed off on a guy in a heat race. Pissed my wife off. She took a hammer to the right side and told me to either race it or take it home and fix it and show it. I raced it. About 6 races into the season I tore the whole right side off of it. Replacement panels were rattle can sprayed. But on a whole I was Rat Rod and Rat bike material before it was cool

Well now.  Looking forward to observing some west coast talent coming to EL in 2025 when UCLA plays at Spartan Stadium.  Perhaps the "powers that be" could arrange a Bruins v. Spartans cheer competition at halftime.  They better schedule the game in September rather than November for all the obvious reasons.  Wouldn't want the Bruins to feel chilled.

Mornin fellas. Weird little show in Modesto yesterday. And generally weird town.

 

Off to San Francisco in a little bit! Got a couple days off but alas; I'll be working during the days. Stoked to have time to check out more of the town though. Pretty much every SF trip I been on was work related so never been able to explore too much!

Time to play a round of golf on the course where the deer are plentiful and very tame. 

Connestee Falls it is. 

Lovely weather for our round as the extreme heat has left the mountains.

78* with a breeze.

In a city with so many great restaurants, I have a couple of favorites: John’s Grill and Boulevard. Both have great history, but John’s Grill will transport you back about a century. Even if just for a cocktail, it’s worth checking out if you have the time.

Glad you are getting to play. It has been raining on and off all day in fact raining now. But it has cooled down to like 85 or so but still have humidity between showers
