My parents were saints. I used to practice my Bass for hours in our 10' x 56' trailer. Never complained ( well, hardly ever) hearing the same song 20 times while I was learning the Bass lines off my record player.😅

I was fortunate that we lived on a big plot of land far from anyone else. I could play as long as my parents weren't home.

It also happened that when I was that age; they were doing their vacations nearly every weekend. That house got lit up then back in the day ... in more than a few ways 😂

I use a 33” putter, but everyone is different. A broomstick for bad backs, any length that matches your hand height for your stroke.

If I were a brain surgeon, I would prefer to be closer to my work.

Many people putt straighter with their lead hand in ulnar deviation, hinged downwards. It locks the hands in place. Your wrists can move in multiple directions when neutral or with a slight hinge.

Just had a long chat with my amazing lovely friend Rachel. An amazing talent. This is her ... like all of it (with some backing vocals from her sister, also a dear friend)

My favorite thing about moving back to Vegas is reconnecting with old pals.

Also the LLWS championship yesterday was epic. Curaçao tied tied it up with a grand slam in the 5th (they only play 6) and Cali came back and walked it off for the ‘chip w/a HR. 🙌🏼

👍

I saw the walk off HR by California.

Started with 5 consecutive K's.  I'd say that's pretty good in your first home start.

I hear a lot of amazing things in Rach's voice. 🙂

This is her sister (and her) ... along with Vegas' own uncle, Rob Ruckus.

I was at the Palms center bar one night and heard this amazing voice from the lounge off to the side. I went in and looked at it was Justine.

In 2003, it wasn't so easy to track someone down. But I did somehow. Don't even remember how I did it. Unlike most of my old Vegas tales, that one didn't include ... well, you know. I was just enamored with her voice. Learned she's a celebrated, incredibly talented violinist as well. We tried to work drums into her band but it just didn't need it. It didn't add anything to the music. But through her, I met all the folks that lead to me being in this whole scene. I wasn't just a DD tourist anymore. I kinda owe her a lot. And we're still close friends. Ms. aenemated hung out with her at their little goth show Saturday night! 😂

I do love those Bellinsky gals.

... Unlike my full swing, I have never changed anything about my putting stroke. It has always been the best part of my game and I was not dumb enough to change it. As long as I do my back/core exercises I don't have a problem.  I have a slight one bend and a slight bend at my waist and then my arms just hand down. That said, I can't really practice much and only drop 2 balls on the practice green because staying in my stance for more putts that that is asking fro trouble.

Aguilaputt18.jpeg.3f03ad4c5f00ba11d75f20bc7359558f.jpeg

That is the exact problem I have with a regular putter now. Practicing a lot makes my back hurt. I think that was 99% of my problem Saturday afternoon. I had practiced with a Zing at 34" for darn near 30 minutes prior to the round. And truthfully the steel and persimmon did not help things any. Also bending over conventional putting style seems to set those damaged nerves in my back off and it transfers to my hands. So I guess I am broom sticking it now

Because chi posted a putting photo, I had to drop this one. I hate "photo of a photo" but I somehow don't have the OG digital version of this one. This hangs in my lil office here ...

My birdie putt on The Road Hole. With the Go-Lo I rocked on that trip. I normally don't even hit 50 yard pitches with a glove, let alone putt with one but that day was exceptional. I was absolutely soaked through the 4 layers I was wearing that round 😂

(I missed the putt. But it's still a cool photo!)

That stance right there for me will set my back nerves off if I do it say 15 minutes on the putting green. Playing on the course it will set them off anywhere from 6 to 10 holes in. When those nerves get twitched or what ever they do it will transfer to my hands sometimes or transfer to my legs. And yes I agree cool photo and certainly a time and place to remember

I never read stuff like that when I was a kid. But we had plenty of Golf Magazines at the course. I did subscribe to Stock Car Racing Magazine at age 12 with my own money. Now one of my older cousins was an avid Pilot and his Mom ( Grannie's Sister) used to save his old Aviation and Pilot magazines and drop them off for me. Grannie saw I had an interest in Airplanes so she subscribed to Pilot magazine for me.

Note That same cousin some 15 years older than me went into the Air Force and graduated from the AF academy and earned his pilot wings. He got several medals in Nam and was a full Bird Colonel when I was in the Navy. In fact he was semi retired and the liaison officer for the AF to the Navy. When I was in Norfolk I would ride over to see him at Little Creek. He was a Corvette nut too

One of my dad's best friends - and a fella I played a lot of golf with - lended him "Chili Dawgs Always Bark At Night" years and years back. I came upon it ... man, I don't know how old I was. 8 or 9 maybe? I read it and immediately loved it.
